Topless Pro-Abortion Protestors Storm WNBA Game

Most WNBA games have a minimal entertainment factor, but something happened on Tuesday’s game between the New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx that certainly spiced things up.

One group of protestors without tops ran briefly onto the Barclays Center court to support abortion rights and uphold Roe v. Wade.

Some women were covered in what looked like green paint, and others had paint between their legs.

The protestors carried several banners with pro-choice slogans, some of which read “Abortion on demand & without apology,” and “Overturn Roe? Hell no!” The later phrase is a slogan for “Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights,” an organization that … well, I’ll let you draw your own conclusion on what they do.

The organization tweeted out a picture of the four women who protested, along with a statement that read, “’This was the audience we wanted. We aren’t protesting to change the hearts & minds of woman-hating fascists. No. We need to stop #RoeVWade being overturned. YOU! There is no business like it used to be. You must shut down the country!

This statement is flawed in a few ways.

If they’re not interested in the “hearts & minds of woman-hating fascists,” why di the show up and pull the same stunt at a Texas megachurch?

The Supreme Court justices will decide whether Roe v. Wade should be overturned. This is not the case of large groups of whacked-jobs who wish to continue legalizing the killing and killing of babies. They are entitled to exercise their First Amendment rights to protest but the final decision rests with them and anyone who opposes abortion.

Additionally, it is absurd to imagine that their demands will lead to the country being shut down. They have a lot of bad logic and entitlement.

Although protesting at a fairly uneventful WNBA match was certainly a good way to draw attention to yourself, in the end it will likely not be of any benefit.
