Judicial Watch is speaking out on Instagram after video social media app TikTok allegedly permanently banned its president’s account.
Judicial Watch is headed by Tom Fitton. It focuses on the expose of corruption in federal government.
Fitton said his account was permanently banned with “no warning.”
“Well, the communists running #TikTok just “permanently banned” my account. No warning,” Fitton said in a video posted to Judicial Watch’s Instagram account.
Judicial Watch users on Instagram vented their frustration at the ban.
“When something is banned it is highly likely the banned item/person is exposing an area the government is breaking the law!” one user commented.
“China [sic] owned TikTok should be banned,” another user said.
TikTok’s close connections to the Chinese Communist Party have been criticised. There are growing concerns that TikTok may have access to the personal information of American users for the CCP.
Ashton Kutcher is a vocal critic of the app. “If I’m China and I want to create a problem in that area of the world, specifically a Naval problem in the South China Sea, I would probably want to utilize TikTok in order to influence the minds of Americans,” he said at the time.
