The View Decries Capitol Police Exonerating Loudermilk With True Probe

With the Democrat-led January 6 Committee dredging up the long-debunked conspiracy theory that Republicans Congressman Barry Loudermilk (GA) was involved in helping the Capitol rioters plan the attack, ABC’s The ViewTheir goal was to gaslight the viewers and spread lies and misinformation in order to discredit Republicans. After an investigation, they exonerated Loudermilk and all of the members of the tour group.

“So, Loudermilk insists, like last night, that the Capitol Police already investigated and found nothing shady, and he doubled down that it was just a wholesome family tour,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg announced in a mocking accent.

Following a soundbite of Loudermilk on Fox News explaining the nature of the tour group and how the Capitol Police had investigated and found no wrongdoing, self-proclaimed “Republican” Ana Navarro, who’s not known for her oversized wit, proclaimed Loudermilk should change his name to “lying butter.”

Then, without evidence, Navarro went on a quick unhinged rant about how the rioters supposedly “had inside help” from members of Congress and the Supreme Court to take over the building:

The bottom line, listen, is that it should alarm all of us to see just how far we have fallen. The January 6th tentacles extended; into the Supreme Court and into the White House. They also had help inside. They went out to check the place. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist or physicist to understand this. This is obvious, as it was so widespread and many were complicit in helping and aiding the plotters to set up an insurrection.

It was “such a widespread conspiracy” that the Capitol Police didn’t find anything wrong with Loudermilk and the tour? Or, Ana, are you suggesting that even the Capitol Police are in on it?

Sunny Hostin, Sunny’s co-host, suggested this a few minutes later. She expressed surprise that Capitol Police had not announced the facts. “I don’t understand why they did release a statement that said, ‘well, we’ve investigated this and there’s nothing to see here.’ That part does actually concern me,”She was worried.

Hostin hugged her tinfoil cap as tight as possible and praised the Capitol Police for their efforts. “And I’m not sure why they did that, but then in response to that, the January 6 Committee released some of that video that we saw,”She was elated.

And just like that, the Capitol Police, who were portrayed as the bravest of paladins fighting off the Trumpist hoards, were suddenly relegated to the trash and called liars just because the Democrats on the committee have a false narrative to weave.

“Tell the truth. He was casing the joint is what he was doing,” co-host joy Behar sneered. And putting together the pieces of the supposed puzzle in the way only she could, Behar suggested Loudermilk needed to go on the tour so he could “see where is Nadler’s office, and where is Pelosi’s office, so that he could tip off these insurrectionists.”

As they were going to a commercial break, Hostin was forced to read their fourth legal note of the week by ABC’s standards and practices. “Congressman Loudermilk has denied any wrongdoing and accused the committee of a smear campaign, claiming no one in his January 5 tour group has been criminally charged in relation to January 6,” she read as Behar and Goldberg were hootin’ and hollerin’ with their side commentary suggesting it was only a matter of time until they’re all charged (for what, they didn’t say).

“They have all their stuff in order,” Goldberg touted the committee as the play-off music sounded. “Here’s the proof. How you can deny stuff that’s on tape, always knocks me out.”

The real question is, how can any sane or non-politically motivated person look at the Capitol Police’s findings and still push a debunked conspiracy theory?

WHOOPI GOLDBERG : Loudermilk claims, just like last night that the Capitol Police have already investigated and found nothing suspicious, but he also insists it was simply a healthy family tour.

Joy Behar: [Scoffs and laughs]

ANA NAVARRO

SUNNY HOOSTIN: No.

NAVARRO: Right? [Applause]You know what? I’ve been to the Capitol many times. You can hear me. Take pictures of the magnetometer.

GOLDBERG: The hallway.

NAVARRO: The hallways or staircases. In the tunnels, you can see children’s art.

Let’s be honest, we should all find it so alarming just how far January 6’s tentacles reach; into the Supreme Court and into the White House. They were assisted by insiders. They had inside help. This is something you don’t need to know if you are not a rocket scientist. This is obvious, as it was so widespread and many were complicit in helping and aiding the plotters to set up an insurrection.

HOSTIN: The truth doesn’t morph link that.

BEHAR: Exactly.

HOSTIN: And so you know that he’s lying.

GOLDBERG (No, The Truth Is the Truth)

HOSTIN: The truth is the truth it doesn’t morph. Whoopi, I believe the issue is, as you mentioned in your opening, that he refused to testify before the committee but is now testifying via Fox News. Right? He’s changing the truth or claiming to be the truth all the time.

Ana, you are right. Shouldn’t we be really concerned about the fact that he’s relying on these different versions, he’s testifying on Fox News. And the Capitol Police though, I don’t understand why they did release a statement that said, ‘well, we’ve investigated this and there’s nothing to see here.’ That part does actually concern me.

BEHAR: Were they able to say this the day after he arrived on January 6, when he was still there?

HOSTIN: This was just recently said. Recently, they released a statement stating they reviewed all the footage and didn’t think this was any kind of recognizance [sic] tour. It’s not clear why. However, some video from the January 6 Committee was released.

GOLDBERG It could have been a three hour tour. Three-hour tour.

[Applause]

HOSTIN: He should also testify. He should be able to testify, because there is a discrepancy.

BEHAR: Let’s tell the truth. It was what he was actually doing. To tip these rebels off, he was planning to go see Nadler’s and Pelosi offices. They were all there.

GOLDBERG

HOSTIN: Yes. You have my legal note.

BEHAR: Louder. Louder.

HOSTIN – Congressman Loudermilk denied wrongdoing, accusing the committee in a smear campaign. According to Loudermilk’s January 5 tour group, no criminal charges have been filed in relation January 6.

BEHAR: No.

GOLDBERG: Yet. Yeah. It’s true. It’s true. The truth is out there in the wash. All their things are in order. They can then send the items out saying, “Oh, this did not happen.” The proof is here. I am always amazed at how people can defy taped material.
