We are now done with the biggest televised matter of the day, the verdict in favor of Johnny Depp over Amber Heard. Now you can relax and unwind. The televised hearings by the January 6 Committee will be available soon.
Vying on your screens, as dramatically presented by the behind-the-scenes media wizards for the role of the put-upon Johnny and the even more put-upon Amber will be, well, every member of the Committee. This is a clear indication that Committee staff have been working late to figure out the angles of questions they will ask their bosses if they are given the opportunity to interview witnesses.
Every question, every practiced expression, and of course the TV time required. The staff of CNN, MSNBC and other broadcasts can also be assured they will scrutinize every question and answer that is posed to them by any witness.
You can be certain there will be a contest among Committee members to illustrate on live TV for their constituents and all of America who Really – no, who really really – hates Donald Trump the most. It is certain that those running TV cameras are going to reward members who get the most glowing, favorable coverage.
Since the Clintonites appointed a jury to hear Michael Sussman’s case, there has never been such a stack of cards. All members are committed to the same outcome. The only difference is the Sussman jury deliberated in a closed room with no cameras. For the Committee, the Committee will have the proceedings live and broadcast in color. With the end result to deliver up to the stacked media deck the verdict the media demands: The Verdict is Trump Did It. Guilty, guilty, guilty. The case is closed.
In fact, the alliance between the anti-Trumpers on the panel — which is to say all of them — and the Trump haters in the media will blossom on live television for all Americans to see, confirming for millions what they have known now seemingly forever. Which is to say, the liberal “fake news” media is permanently allied to the far left of the Democratic Party and Trump-hating Republicans.
And that media will go about on air openly spreading the gospel of the latest left wing narrative of the moment, whatever that might be. This case is clear evidence that the ex-President is guilty and guilty of everything that has to do with January 6.
Front and center for the cameras, of course, will be the two Republicans on the Committee – Wyoming’s Liz Cheney and Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger.
It will not be lost on millions of Americans just why Cheney and Kinzinger are there in the first place – not that it will get much mention by the media. Kevin McCarthy was the House Republican leader and had the power to nominate Republicans on this Committee. When McCarthy fulfilled his responsibility by naming Ohio’s Jim Jordan and Indiana’s Jim Banks – Trump supporters both — he was abruptly blocked by none other than the Democrats’ Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Pelosi then chose the Trump-hating Cheney and Kinzinger to serve as the liberal media-approved Republicans on the Committee.
This was straight from Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, the famous fairy tale. You can read it as follows, using bold print to emphasise:
“Let the jury consider their verdict,” the King said, for about the twentieth time that day.
“No, no!” said the Queen. “Sentence first–verdict afterwards.”
“Stuff and nonsense!” said Alice loudly. “The idea of having the sentence first!”
“Hold your tongue!” said the Queen, turning purple.
“I won’t!” said Alice.
“Off with her head!” the Queen shouted at the top of her voice.
— Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
The January 6 Committee and their leftist media allies are all about one thing: Sentence first, verdict afterwards. In the rush to convict Trump the Committee is as follows The American Spectator’s publisher Melissa Mackenzie notes, has rushed to issue subpoenas to private tel-com companies “AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and others” to gain access to the private texts, e-mails and phone records of over 100 American citizens.
Do not make any mistake. This is an abusive power abuse in authoritarian style. A media that is in the pocket of the tanks aids and facilitates this.
Melissa questions the obvious
“How many elected officials, journalists, acquaintances, family, and activists’ data are being scooped up by the select committee? Is this legal?
The subpoenas include all individuals on the subscriber’s account and everyone those people messaged or spoke to. The committee is looking for data covering any contact made with this individual in the two- to three month period prior to January 6, 2021, and up to January 31, 2021. This is tens of thousands of moms, children, clergy, reporters, and Republican and conservative influencers who were in touch with everyone from White House aides to prominent activists.”
As these hearings progress, the question for the media is: Will they demand that the Committee be held accountable for this huge abuse of power? Will the Committee members support releasing their own data and that of the Committee’s staff? The media will demand to view the phone records and texts of Kinzinger and Cheney, among others. Of Bennie Thompson (Democratic chairman)
Answer? Don’t hold your breath.
Do not make any mistake. The televised hearings of the January 6 Committee are nothing but a corruption-driven media setup putting on a show trial in Stalinesque style, with predetermined results. What’s the point? This media coverage will be purposely designed to save Democrats and Joe Biden’s bacon in November. So, Inflation? That’s nothing. Are you familiar with the January 6 Committee coverage.
Shocking.
Not.
