The Left Suddenly Realizes Trump Was Right All Along on UN – Opinion

The reactions to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, under completely ridiculous pretenses, are swift and furious.

Left-leaning parties have their own coping mechanisms. Donald Trump, who isn’t even president and has nothing to do with the current situation, is being discussed more than Vladimir Putin himself at times. After all, they couldn’t be possibly be expected to hold Joe Biden, the actual President of the United States, accountable for his incredible failures.

Trump has been made another scapegoat. After the invasion, the UN Security Council met in an unbelievable spectacle. Russia was elected to be the chairperson. That prompted condemnations from figures like Ben Rhodes, the abject mediocrity behind Barack Obama’s foreign policy.

Yes, I do. I wish there was a president that had invested considerable effort in pursuing the United Nations and exposed its corruption. Wait, that’s exactly what happened while Trump was president — and he was overwhelmingly condemned for it by the smart set.

When Nikki Haley, then UN Ambassador, walked out from the UN Human Rights Council due to its anti-Semitism toward Israel and the left chose the side of some despots. Trump spoke out against the UN to condemn the organisation’s support for dictatorships, while lecturing Western governments. Every major media outlet ran to grab the orange man, instead of making the UN accountable.

Republicans remember. In fact, I’d be short-selling matters by only giving Trump credit for opposing the UN. Democrats have been begging the GOP for years to realize that the UN is an inefficient use of their time and money. Since a long time, the push for funding pull has continued. If Democrats had ceased to be partisan and supported such a move it would have been possible to bring about much-needed reforms. The powers that were, from Democrat politicians and the news media, rebuked every Republican who suggested that the UN was a problem to be addressed.

Do Democrats really want to get tough on UN issues? Yeah, I’m not buying that at all. They spit on our faces when we tried to warn them. Besides, you can bet these critiques won’t go any further than social media. Is the Biden administration going to actually suggest real steps to change what’s happening at the UN? It is unlikely that this will happen.

The bottom line is that Rhodes and others can jump into a lake while virtue-signaling. When they are ready to admit how wrong they were and actually do something about the problem, maybe, and that’s a big maybe, we’ll hear them out.
