The Left Loses Its Monopoly on Narrative Setting – Opinion

Americans finally get the message about the manipulation of mass media. I watched as the media did its best to make January 6th a “thing.” But having just taken a road trip across country, the rank and file voter says otherwise. It is a Recent CBS poll confirms that a vast majority of Americans do not believe that this was an “insurrection” and are a lot less hyperbolic about it than talking heads on liberal cable shows or the Beltway media.

What fascinated me most were the unabashed statements that regular citizens made about Biden and Democrats. It’s not just the “I did it” stickers at the gas pumps. This is now a popular cultural trend. Not just a rural one, but it’s spilling over to the suburbs. The people aren’t as scared to speak up.

It could have been visiting a tourist trap on Duval St., Key West, on New Years, and finding all anti-Biden paraphernalia on sale there, or overhearing noisy conversations in Noble Oklahoma at a local restaurant. I was surprised that Trump had become so vocal, particularly since he was elected president.

This shift was what? I think as usual it’s the overreach from the left. They’ve bought into their own hype, thinking the last election was some sort of sweeping mandate and have done such nonsensical things that Manchin and Sinema have had to put on the brakes.  Additionally, concrete issues such as supply chain problems that have affected Christmas and higher gasoline prices has given patriotic Americans reason to complain about their wokeist priorities.

Republicans now have an opportunity to take charge and present new ideas. But the bigger question is: Are they going to be able to capitalise on this wonderful assist?

A bigger problem is not shared by both the left and right. Is the left working so hard to make America less American? These are the reasons that so many Democrats have become conservative. A polarization effect is created when the left attacks people and their culture by poking at the bear.

Trump was not the focus of it all. Trump was only a vehicle for what needed to be done. I’m not even white, but I have felt this attack against American values and heritage for decades now. When I had clientele from the liberal Hollywood elite, one said something powerful to me, “America has no culture.” I chose not to respond but in my head, I was thinking, “Wow, I love American culture, our history, our success.” That shocked me. She was a white liberal who came from the heartland, in the Midwest, but was there so much self hatred, she couldn’t see how great this country is?

A little over 15 years later and the Democrats feel even worse about America. I took a road trip across country, one of many I’ve done in my lifetime. Never before have there been so many Trump signs. Rural America and suburbs were silent for so long, but they’re tired of being silenced. “Let’s Go Brandon” was the perfect moment for America-loving Americans to express their frustration without being nasty. Compare it to the violence and hatred displayed by the left in the cities of Trump’s years (and continuing today).

Self-deprecation can be a nice trait, but let’s not take it too far. This has been used by the left to raise cries, irrational behaviour such as throwing out statues and taking down American history. It is also a way for the left to worship America.
