The Great Re-Sorting Is Here

The incoming New York City mayor Eric Adams, the supposed corrective to the outgoing Mayor Bill de Blasio, announced this week that he will allow legislation to continue allowing for local voting to be allowed to 800,000. California’s legislature passed a bill this week that would create single-payer state healthcare. It also paid for increased costs through essentially doubling taxes.

In large numbers, Americans are fleeing liberal countries. They are expected to grow even further.

About 352,198 New York State residents traveled to warmer climates between July 2020-2021. In the same time, 2.9% of District of Columbia’s population was lost. California saw a net migration of 367,299 residents. Another failing state was Illinois which saw net outmigration of 122,460.

What happened to all the refugees from blue states? Of course, to the red states. Texas absorbed 170,307 immigrants from other parts of the country. Florida accounted for 220,890 immigrants. Arizona had a population of 93,026. Idaho experienced the highest annual growth in its population.

Only the South saw an increase in population — now holding 38.3% of total country population. It also received 657,682 immigrants from other areas. With a population decline of 365 795, the Northeast now ranks as the most populous area in America. The West’s population growth was largely due to international migration and births, rather than domestic movements.

This is not about individuals, it’s also companies. Meta, Facebook’s parent company signed the biggest ever lease in Austin, covering floors 34-66 in the tallest building in Austin. Elon Musk moved his headquarters to Texas. The Daily Wire in my own city, California, was moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2020.

Also, the magnetism of red state governance is stronger than blue state governance. Blue states can’t change their course. They can’t simply abandon failed ideas such as single-payer medical care and voting for illegal aliens. Recognizing error would require them to do this. They are instead banking on virtue signaling, unearned moral superiority — virtue signaling — in order to close the gaps where good governance is needed. So, the red state is a grandma-killing paradise (where blue legislators are vacation); it’s brutal to suppress your voting rights (where Stacey Abrams hopes to be governor again); and its inhabitants are vicious dog-eats-dog capitalists (who should be taxed for funding national spending programs).

This information is not going to make Americans vote Democrat. This is not the way it was intended to. The Democrats have been relying on the same electoral strategy that Barack Obama used to win in 2012: removing a minority base and women who are college educated. But that strategy is collapsing — as Ruy Texiera, once the nation’s leading proponent of that strategy, admitted in November, “if Hispanic voting trends continue to move steadily against the Democrats, the pro-Democratic effect of nonwhite population growth will be blunted, if not cancelled out entirely, and that very influential Democratic theory of the case falls apart.”

The country is in constant decline. Democrats are unable to pull themselves out of this tailspin. Too invested in the lies that their programs are popular for them to see how many Americans call U-Haul.
