As several senators including Tim Scott (Republican-Statesman) and Nikki Haley (former United States Ambassador at the United Nations), the buzz surrounding the GOP 2024 presidential primary is heating up. The state votes first during the primary election.
Which GOP ticket has the greatest chance of winning in swing states in 2024? Perhaps it could be two of the most popular governors among GOP voters — Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and Kristi Noem (R-SD). A few other names that have been floated around as vice presidential picks have been Nikki Haley, Kim Reynolds (R-IA), and a “unity ticket” featuring former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI).
Because of South Dakota’s performance, and especially the handling of the COVID-19 epidemic in South Dakota, a DeSantis-Noem ticket might entice the GOP to vote for key swing states. While they kept their businesses open and did not enforce vaccination mandates, they encouraged citizens to get immunized. California, on the other hand, closed down small businesses. South Dakota and Florida had flourishing economies as a result.

Many swing states will play in 2024.
These swing states are crucial as the GOP looks to shift tactics and target female college-educated voters. They could also be decisive in deciding whether the GOP nominee loses or wins the general election. The GOP will have to choose the right ticket in order to win in 2024 as they attempt to create this wide coalition, which includes suburban voters who voted in Joe Biden’s 2020 election.
General election will present the GOP with a challenge. DeSantis, Noem and others could be in a position to enjoy smooth sailing for 2024 as people migrate from various states in large numbers to Florida and South Dakota. The GOP-controlled state and swing states must be won. In Virginia, Glenn Youngkin won the position of governor after Joe Biden had received 54% of the vote. DeSantis or Noem could use the same tactics to win the presidency.
Although there have been several candidates interested in running — former Vice President Mike Pence, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), former secretary of state Mike Pompeo, and, of course, former President Donald Trump — it seems as though due to the governing style of DeSantis and Noem, they have become prevalent figures among the GOP. Trump supporters could come to Trump with the DeSantis-Noem platform, along with Independents and moderate Republicans. In order to win in 2020, it is crucial that the GOP brings together everyone.
