The FBI Dir. Christopher Wray appeared before the US Senate to ostensibly answer questions about the bureau’s conduct. Wray was not amused by any form of accountability and went through a full undressing.
The first was Sen. Ted Cruz’s expose of the FBI-led Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping plot. In his questioning, Senator Josh Hawley also demanded his pound. Later, Wray tried to wiggle out of the hearing by claiming to Sen. Chuck Grassley that he had “a plane to catch.”
Now we have the details of what flight he took and its destination. It sure looks scandalous. Wray painted a picture of Wray running through busy international airports in an attempt to portray him as rushing to catch a scheduled flight. Instead, he jumped aboard his private Gulfstream 550. Worse was the place he went. He wasn’t on official FBI business. He was on vacation.
The New York Post published the report.
Grassley’s staff did not know where Wray was going after the hearing and FBI public affairs did not respond to an email Sunday by press time.
According to Adirondack Daily Enterprise, the luxurious FBI Gulfstream Wray flew to Saranac Lake in the Adirondacks. This is his favorite summer destination.
It’s a great, amazing find. @mirandadevineThe luxury FBI Gulfstream Wray flew in a private jet and was captured on Flightradar24. He took the flight to Saranac Lake, Adirondacks. This is a favourite summer spot since his youth.

There are many factors to be aware of, such as the fact Wray misled Congress regarding why he was forced to flee. The idea that a government-controlled FBI jet couldn’t wait an extra few minutes for Republicans to finish their questioning is ludicrous. Wray is nothing if he isn’t manipulative, though, and the way he played things while in the hearing was clearly meant to make it seem as if he were catching a commercial flight. That’s not a “lie,” I guess, but it is dang sure dishonest.
Then there are the questions around whether Wray’s flight was even legal. I can’t say as I’m no expert on that area of the law, but I’ve always been under the impression that government officials can’t use government aircraft for personal trips, with the only exception being the President of the United States. If Wray tries to claim that he needed to go to his favorite vacation spot on an FBI jet for “business,” that’s scandalous.
The story of Wray and the Republican senators must be investigated. The FBI is a dumpster fire, and if I had my way, it’d be defunded and abolished. That’s not going to happen, but holding Wray accountable would be a good start. He must also be fired if a Republican takes the White House.
