We’ve seen all kinds of things being pushed in our schools now and it’s become a big election issue because of the concerns of parents.
Governor is credited for bringing down parents upset by CRT or other things, such as the lying about Loudoun County’s sexual assault case. Glenn Youngkin won on a red wave to win November. These issues will be major issues during the midterms.
But if you thought that we’d hit the bottom of the barrel as to what might be pushed in the schools, the Daily Wire’s Luke Rosiak has a new story that shows they just keep reaching lower.
A Loudoun County (yes, them again) Sterling Middle School teacher grew concerned when she saw a parent’s tweet about a book that was available in the school library, “Seeing Gender,” which has a chapter titled “Sex Work is Not a Bad Term.”
“A person may exchange sex or sexual activity for things they need or want, such as food, housing, hormones, drugs, gifts, or other resources,” reads one shocking passage in the book.
Prostitution is “a job like being a store clerk, an architect, or a freelance writer. To make our livings, everyone has to do some work. Some of us hate our jobs and some of us love them–the same goes for those who do sex work. Sadly, sex work is generally misunderstood,” the book states.
It was enough.
But when the concerned teacher went to the librarian, Stefany Guido, to ask if this was available to kids, that’s when things got even worse, as the librarian started defending having the book in the library.
“She started talking about how there’s kids who come to the library who do sex work, and this makes them feel validated,” the teacher told police. “As a teacher, if you get an individual student coming to you because you’re abused, you have to go the police immediately.”
Guido didn’t name any students except for one student who passed through the school six years ago, according to the teacher.
Guido said that the book was intended for eighth graders.
“I said, ‘what happens if a sixth grader checks it out?’” the teacher told police. “She said ‘I have a conversation with them about it.’”
“I said, ‘This is like a textbook for how to do this, including selling your body for hormone replacement therapy,’” the teacher said. “She said, ‘There’s no pornography in it so it doesn’t matter.’”
Yikes. The librarian allegedly admitted she’d been told by kids that they were doing “sex work” and that she thought the book made them felt “validated.” The first thought — if you are told by a child that they are doing “sex work” — should be to immediately report it and get the child help, not being concerned about helping the child feel “validated” by what is a crime against them. It’s not clear whether the librarian reported it because she’s not talking to the Daily Wire. But if the librarian didn’t report that to the police, it’s a problem. Additionally, there’s a problem thinking this is something that should be “validated.” Then, how many kids is she claiming this applies to? The school resource officer stated that the school was located in an area where child trafficking is suspected.
The teacher went to the police when she heard what the librarian had to say because she took that obligation to be a “mandatory reporter” seriously, according to the Daily Wire. The Daily Wire recorded the report to the police.
Police are investigating after a middle school librarian allegedly defended a pro-prostitution book by saying it belonged in the library because many of the school’s 11- to 13-year old students are sex workers. Educators are mandatory reporters.https://t.co/KGnr1KNAYz

The Daily Wire noted the police are investigating now, but they haven’t provided a police report yet.
Another case which requires answers.
