Former NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal continues to pile up the cash ten years after he retired from the game as one of the greatest centers the league has ever seen. One thing is certain, regardless of the millions Shaq has made in his fortune. The podcast hosted Shaq’s appearance Earn Your Leisure, Shaq said his six kids — Shareef, Shaqir, Me’arah, Myles, Taahirah, and Amirah — are not going to get a free ride just because their dad is rich.
And during a September interview with The New York Post in which he talked about his decision to retire from “celebrity status,” Shaq said he tells his kids all the time he’s rich; they’re Not.
“My kids are older now. My kids are a bit upset at me. Not really upset, but they don’t understand. They hear me tell them everything. We ain’t rich. I’m rich.”

As reported by The Post, Shaq has told his kids they’re going to have to have a game plan if they want access to a piece of his $400 million pie.
“You gotta have bachelor’s or master’s [degrees] and then if you want me to invest in one of your companies, you’re going to have to present it — boom boom boom, bring it to me. I’ll let you know, [but] I’m not giving you nothing.”

“But I tell them I’m not going to hand it to you. You gotta earn it.”

Shaq stated that he was raised in modest circumstances during his interview with The Post.
“I came from nothing. But, just because I made it doesn’t mean I’m bigger than you, smarter than you — just because I have more money doesn’t mean I’m better than you. I’ve never been that way and I never will be that way.”
