SBNation: Why Would Kyrie Irving Avoid Jab, One Of ‘World’s Wonders’?

COVID-19 vaccines have been called one of the most important modern inventions in the history of medicine. One of the nation’s top athletes isn’t aware of this though. The Brooklyn Nets’ guard Kyrie Irving needs to put aside his ignorance, get jabbed, keep everyone in New York City safe and serve as a good role model for people, says SBNation sportswriter Ricky O’Donnell.

Irving, a perennial star and all-star athlete has refused to get vaccinated. He has been permitted to participate in only two NBA road games this season. New York and Brooklyn have jab requirements that have stopped Irving from being able to practice or play at home during this season. More on his playing status below, but let’s first get back to O’Donnell, an exaggerator-extraordinaire.

“The Covid vaccines are It is an incredible achievement for humanity,” O’Donnell wrote (emphasis added). Except when they’re not.

COVID broke out in the NFL late last season. Despite the fact that the vast majority of NFL players were vaccinated against the virus, it still ravaged the league. As an example, the COVID virus was detected in 18 Cleveland Browns players and 21 Washington members.

The NFL responded to the crisis by surrendering in part, by changing guidelines to allow asymptomatic players who tested positive to return sooner.

The NBA postponed nearly a dozen games in December. There were more than thirty-eight players on the COVID List.

That’s some “A huge achievement in the history of humanity,” all right.

O’Donnell also insists vaccines “are safe and effective.” Except when they’re not.

The CDC reports these side effects: pain, swelling, headaches, nausea, fever and more. These are the major ones: severe allergic reaction, death, thrombosis, death, or damage to immune system nerve cell and heart inflammation.

Stefan Bondy, of the New York Daily News, theorized yesterday that New York City and Brooklyn could potentially allow Irving to play in exchange for paying small fines. However, he believes Irving should be vaccinated.

O’Donnell says the Nets should not allow Irving to sneak through a “loophole” by paying fines. He “has never given a sensible reason for refusing to get the vaccine.” He’s merely being ignorant, and the Nets should hold the hard line on vaccination, O’Donnell insists.

Irving no longer plays in road games and the effect of COVID vaccinations on pro-sports just keeps getting worse. Just as the media’s denial on vaccinations – see O’Donnell – just will not let up.
