Sarah Huckabee Sanders (ex-White House Press Secretary) will be the Republican nominee in Arkansas for the gubernatorial election, Decision DeskHQ projects.
Huckabee Sanders is currently leading at 80.67% with 26.1% of the votes in, as of 8:13 Central Time
The former Trump administration official in Arkansas will be victorious in the November general election. According to the Remington Research Group, she has 58 percent support compared with 28 percent for Chris Jones (her presumed Democratic rival). This is not surprising considering Washington’s wide disapproval of Democrats at the moment, which has trickled down to the local level.

Huckabee Sanders will follow in her father’s footsteps as Arkansas governor from 1996 to 2007. Each of them has made their mark on the national stage. Huckabee-Sanders is known for being a media personality, and a presidential candidate, after she left office. While the older was well-known for her role as press secretary and media personality, the younger became well-known for her work in the field.
“I think paying attention to the bad policies and the failures of the Biden administration and the impact that they have on our state is critically important,” she said Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.
“If they continue to fail the way that they have and they continue to, I think, but states in a difficult position, then absolutely, we’re going to call them out and we’re going to continue to talk about that.”
Huckabee Sanders won endorsements from many high-profile politicians, including the incumbent Arkansas Governor. Asa Hutchinson was a former Secretary to State Mike Pompeo. This endorsement, together with her name recognition, helped her win. Her active work in defense of Trump likely earned her trust without hesitation from many Trump-supporting Arkansas voters, making it one less obstacle that Republican candidates will have to overcome.
