ABC continues to struggle to find conservative women to replace Meghan McCain. The View, Sara Haines seemed to be uninterested in that search as she told ABC chief anchor George Stephanopoulos on Wednesday’s Good Morning America that her “dream” new co-host would be two-time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
After some questions to promote the new season of Haines’ game show, The ChaseThe former Clinton lackey shifted to talking about The View. “Right now, there’s still an open seat on the co-host panel. What are your dream co-hosts,” Stephanopoulos wondered.
Haines declared without missing any beat “I would love for Hillary Clinton to sit in.” “I know she would never come permanently,”She agreed. Stephanopoulos seemed relieved she came to that realization on her own, scoffing “I was going to say, do you think she’d do it?”
Haines went on to fawn about how Clinton “has such a wealth of knowledge” and how she loves to listen to her:
We are always asking her questions, even though the camera is off. Her personality is so unique and her knowledge on hot subjects makes it hard for me to not be curious. That’s what I meant — she’d be able to speak but it would not interest me.
Surprisingly, Stephanopoulos asked Haines about the “controversial” Hot Topics segment of the shows and “How do you learn to navigate it?”
It was her advice to say nothing and allow the others to speak.
To listen. To listen more. To listen more. Although you know exactly what to say, it’s easier to just listen and respond to others. This will make you more confident in your convictions, as either you are influenced or you respond with a double-take and tell the other person that you think you should stay the same.
There’s a reason Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, and Joy Behar drive so much of the outrageous and hateful content that comes out of the show.
As for the selection of a conservative woman who could fill McCain’s old seat, they’ve been sort of bouncing back and forth between former Trump White House Communications Director Alyssa Farah Griffin, who’s honestly been rather squishy with defending conservative and Republican policies, and Lindsey Granger, host of Daily Blast Live.
In a recent appearance in March, Granger schooled the liberal co-host on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s record regarding her representation of Guantanamo Bay terrorists. And on May 6, she confronted Hostin after Hostin said black Republicans were an “oxymoron.” “I have many conservative values that I will talk to you about,” Granger said at one point.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS – Let’s get to the bottom of it The View. Right now, there’s still an open seat —
SARA HAINES:
STEPHANOPOULOS — On the co-host panel. Which co-hosts are you dreaming of?
HAINES: So, it’s funny. Although she’s already been to the show, I wish Hillary Clinton would come to watch — although I am certain that she wouldn’t be able to stay forever.
STEPHANOPOULOS (I was about to speak). Is it possible she could do it?
HAINES: She is different in person and I’m not sure if she knows, but we always have questions for her when we bring her on set. Her personality is so unique and her knowledge on hot subjects makes it hard for me to not be impressed. It’s not like I would have it — although I want to hear what she has to say, she is always a pleasure to be around.
STEPHANOPOULOS – This segment is so sparkly. This topic can sometimes be controversial.
HAINES: Yeah.
STEPHANOPOULOS: –at times. It is difficult to know how to navigate.
HAINES: To listen. To listen more. To listen more. Although you know exactly what to say, it’s easier to just listen and respond to others. This will make you more confident in your convictions, as either you are influenced or you respond with a double-take and tell the other person that you think you should stay the same.
STEPHANOPOULOS – How does it all work each day? You can bring something from the news to discuss.
HAINES: Everyone has a voice in this. All of us pitch the topics that we would like to be discussing in the morning. These topics are kept current so everyone can talk about them. If it is something that one of us cares about, we will bring it to the table.
