Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is the most popular state leader in the United States without question and the reaction he got at Turning Point USA’s 2022 Student Action Summitt proves it.
It was clear that the excitement in this room was high before he started to speak. Over 5,000 people filled the room, and soon began to fill it with more. Charlie Kirk, president of TPUSA, gave Charlie a quick introduction. Then, a short video montage was shown that added even more excitement.
After that, the screen was filled with his name as well as his image. The stage was filled with smoke and fireworks, and the air was heavy. It was like watching a WWE wrestler’s introduction, and his greeting from the crowd was just as loud as a packed arena.
DeSantis moved up the steps and no one was there to sit. There was a lot of cheering and cheering as well as clapping and some jumping. It was an experience that only a few politicians, at any time of popularity, can enjoy in this room.
It’s well deserved, to be sure. DeSantis is now the American hope for those seeking an escape from authoritarianism on the left. He has also made himself the number one enemy of Democrats. This only made him more popular with the right.
They were more likely to fall in love with him because of his speech.
DeSantis talked about many topics during his 30+ minute stint on the stage. He spoke on the importance of protecting children from woke ideology, and his vow that woke corporations like Disney will never govern Florida so long as he’s around.
Between the brainwashing of children and the border that sees thousands of illegals pouring across it, you’d figure that Democrats would, at some point, realize that they’re the bad guys, but as DeSantis pointed out, woke ideology (something he dubbed the “mind virus”) is the central driving force behind it all and it has to be opposed at every turn.
He noted that it’s highly likely that the majority of Americans reject it, but that it’s embraced by so many of our elite institutions including the military.
He refuses to submit to Dr. Anthony Fauci’s whims. His defiance of the Left during the COVID-19 Pandemic and even his refusal to submit to certain Establish Republicans actually helped his state, rather than making it fall apart like many other blue states with unnecessary lockdowns.
At one point, DeSantis wished Biden a speedy recovery from his own COVID-19 virus, then followed it up by wishing America a speedy recovery from Biden’s presidency.

While the speech itself is worthwhile, it’s worth spending time watching, and taking note of DeSantis’s energy.

Despite the hope of many, DeSantis didn’t directly hint at any runs for President in 2024, but I’m not entirely sure that mattered. That was DeSantis’s speech theme. The speech was an indication that Biden clearly knows how to fix the nation after his terrible presidency.
While time will tell whether or not America’s favorite governor takes a run at the White House, SAS2022 made it pretty clear that DeSantis’s iron has never been hotter and the time to begin forging his Presidential run is soon. He’s made it clear on several occasions that right now, the focus is on the upcoming midterms.
Then we might see DeSantis 2024 rise.
