Republicans Need to Learn the Lesson From RINOs Who Try to Appease Democrats Only to Get Scorched – Opinion

These are just a few examples of how Republicans getting Democrat support doesn’t lead to Dems backing them.

Michigan’s Republican primary results showed that John Gibbs won the party votes. He was the Trump-backed candidate in district MI-3. He defeated incumbent Peter Meijer, who had been representing the region in D.C. – or had he? Meijer was Trump is a proud foe, boasting how he was “The only freshman from history to vote for impeachment of a president representing his party,” and also an early name declaring Biden the rightful election winner.

He did not win the support of Michigan voters with his supposedly historical stances. They also led to him not earning any loyalty at all for his “brave” positions from Democrats, who clearly were benefactors of his positions. This did not result in applause nor support. Meijer was immediately attacked by the Democrats.

The Dems were appeased and despite appeals to, the party continued. threw financial support towards Gibbs. It was designed to get Gibbs nominated so Democrats can campaign against him in the future as an extremist Trump-favoring Democrat. It is a craven and cynical political move – the DCCC is basically looking to demonize a candidate they backed with cash – and it is harsh treatment of a Republican who did their bidding. It is not an isolated case.

Liz Cheney is the head of the January 6 Commission and currently holds the title of darling Republican in the eyes both of Democrats (redundancy noted). But, the verbal affection is not resulting in any sort of tangible support. Liz in Wyoming is now facing both a dismissal and a huge rebuke by her constituents. According to polls, she’s seen negatively by voters and the impending primary is expected to prove bloody. It is now common to see her begging Democrats for support and registering as GOP voters.

Of course, the bigger question is: What is your motivation? Although the benefits of media manipulation and opposition backslapping are great for your ego, you must represent your people in D.C. According to polls, 80% of Americans believe that. A majority of Republicans are nationwideHave a negative view of Trump supporters. Cheney is a particular example. earns even less supportFrom Republicans nationwide. Therefore, Democrats must move alongside her. However, this has been repeatedly proven false.

South Carolina Republican Tom Rice was an open opponent of Trump. In their primary, many Republicans scorned him and he was almost completely abandoned by Democrats. Rice finds himself now knocking on doors seeking new work. There is a possible even worse example in Illinois. Adam Kinzinger is an example of Democrats using the weak Republican to slap him aside as a prophylactic.

Kinzinger did almost everything that a Republican would do to win approval from the left. His opposition to Trump has made him a prominent figure on MSNBC, CNN, and the J-6 Committee. All of this begging for approval with the subtlety of a puppy rolling on its back at their feet has led to Kinzinger becoming all but erased – by Democrats.

Following all of his fealty to that party, the last census meant redistricting was in order, and it has led to Dems in his state eliminating Kinzinger’s district. That was his reward for a couple of years’ worth of Democrat dedication; thanks for all your work, now go pound sand.

These repeated results should be finally realized by those few stunted thinkers that feel that becoming a political turncoat would lead to positive returns. Democrats are not motivated to pay rewards for those who have outlived the usefulness of their members. You will get your last paycheck as political compensation for doing this. Republicans would be happy to eliminate RINOs that work against the interests of their party.
