Jessica Chasmar at Fox News reported that Axios reporter Jonathan Swan grilled Rep. Rashida Tlaib for her support for the BREATHE Act, which calls for the Department of Justice and the Department of Health and Human Services to create a “roadmap for prison abolition,” including the “full decarceration of federal detention facilities within 10 years” and “a moratorium on all new federal prison, jail, immigrant and youth detention construction.”
Swan, who was grilled by President Trump in his interview, received a lot of praise from liberal media. How about this?
The Nexis searches of “Axios”, and “Rashida Tlaib,” revealed that Fox News was the only one that had noticed. The only national newspaper to notice this interview? New York Post.
It’s not encouraged in mainstream media to question radicals from The Squad.
However, not all transcripts will be available on Nexis. Swan spoke on Tuesday morning’s Morning Joe about Tlaib’s filibuster responses.
It’s a great interview. Killing the Filibuster then this … https://t.co/gnsze33LKm

How much have you struggled with the potential negatives to releasing every person currently held in federal prison? Swan asked Swan.
“Yeah, I think that everyone’s like, ‘Oh my God, we’re going to just release everybody,’” Tlaib said. “That’s not what I’m—”
“That’s what the act says,” Swan fired back.
Tlaib stated, “Yeah. But did you also see the number of mentally ill prisoners right now?”
Swan stated, “No. I do not know.” But the act you signed actually states that everyone will be released in 10 years. … There are like, human traffickers, child sex [predators]. Do you mean that you don’t actually support that? You endorsed it.”
Swan’s appearance on Sunday is quite interesting. This WeekOn ABC one day prior to this interview being aired by HBO. Although he mentioned the Tlaib interview with him, he didn’t mention this part of it. The questions continued:
“What I’m trying to understand is, your proposal is so sweeping,” Swan said. “It releases everyone.”
Tlaib said, “Oh, yes, within 10 year.” “Obviously there’s a process of looking at how we can get away from mass incarceration and move toward care first.”
Do you still believe there are certain groups of people who deserve to be in prison? Swan was curious.
Tlaib responded, “There are absolutely.” “I don’t think there’s any rehabilitation happening right now for those that might actually have … mental health issues.”
Swan asked, “Do you believe all individuals can be rehabilitated?” Swan asked.
“I don’t think so. I’ve been very clear about that,” Tlaib replied.
Later, she said: “I would have had to take every case in detail and figure everything out.” Everybody in prison is different.”
Like the Democrats, media tend to be focused on the most enraged conservative Republicans. They ignore leftist radicals and try to portray them as sympathy victims. The Associated Press did not report the Tlaib interview but reported on Rep. Lauren Boebert’s apology to Rep. Ilhan Olmar.
