Reid: Tucker is Racist for Asking to See Judge Jackson’s Test Scores

The MSNBC Thursday Night Special will air on Thursday night. ReidOut Joy Reid used her nightly segment “The Absolute Worst” to go after Fox News host Tucker Carlson for daring to ask for Biden Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s LSAT scores. 

Reid initially wanted to call Florida Governor Ron DeSantis her absolute worst for not letting high school students take off their masks, but Reid thought Carlson’s remarks were so outrageous that she awarded him the title.   

So on any given day, Ron DeSantis’s blatant hypocrisy would render him absolutely unacceptable. Reid lamented, “But nope. There is someone worse out there.” He then cut to Carlson’s comments. 

It might be time for Joe Biden to let us know what Ketanji Brown Jackson’s LSAT score was. What did her score on the LSATs You wouldn’t tell us this? This would answer the definitive question of whether or not she is an exceptional legal talent. 

Reid then mocked Carlson for not going to an Ivy League school “weirdly enough, couldn’t get into an Ivy Tuckums Carlson never asked to see any other nominees’ test scores.” 

Reid read from Nicole Hannah Jones’ tweet complaining about Carlson’s alleged racism. Other than the laughable argument that score to enter law school is the indicator of qualification, it’s not true. This also applies to a long judicial career. White supremacy is based on the assumption that black people can’t read or write. 

After listing Judge Jackson’s qualifications, she gave an overview of her own resume. 

Elliott Williams tweeted that Ketanji Jackson had a lot of experience when she was chosen. Imagine a supremely qualified SCOTUS nominee with two Harvard degrees with honors, a SCOTUS clerkship for the justice they’d replace, and two years as a federal judge. That’s Chief Justice, John Roberts. Ketanji brown Jackson holds all that plus seven additional years as a Judge. Amy Coney Barrett, however, was the most qualified nominee of recent history.

Reid accused Carlson of being racist and asked him if he had ever doubted Justice Barrett’s experiences, which he replied that he didn’t. But he replied that he was certain she was qualified for this job. He probably knew this by just looking at her. Carlson may have assumed that Jackson wasn’t qualified to question Jackson’s credentials. 

Carlson doesn’t believe that. Biden nominating her doesn’t make it a problem because she’s Black. He did so because she was a black female. She is qualified but that doesn’t mean she’s inept. Carlson would rather see Biden highlight her qualifications and not her skin colour. Here’s what Carlson had to say about Judge Jackson being nominated by Biden:

Consider if you were completely uninterested in the country you serve. Now, let’s imagine you wanted to undermine the institution and humiliate it. How would you go about it? You might be asked to fill the most important government position and make it public. The basis for a person’s appearance is more important than their skill, wisdom, or loyalty to the United States founding documents. It’s not about finding the best person, but rather, finding someone who is attractive and qualified. It will communicate that you do not like your country and don’t care much about its institutions. 

America is the ultimate meritocracy where anyone can achieve their dreams if they put in the work and earn it. Jackson is being unfairly appointed because Jackson is black. Jackson is also wrong that Jackson is having her achievements and her entire life story reduced down to her skin. Joy Reid, and not Tucker Carlson are the true racists.

Not even a dog whistle, Nicole Hannah-Jones aptly stated. Other than the silly argument that score to enter law school is the indicator of your qualification, it also means you will have a long and successful judicial career. Standard white supremacy holds that all black people are stupid. Ketanji Jackson is a highly experienced person, Elliott Williams said when she was elected. Then he spoke highly of her amazing family and suggested that she may be the most outstanding person to ever receive a Supreme Court nominee. Tucker Carlson tonight is the absolute, absolute worst for his outright, racist, and frankly stupid behavior. Tonight’s ReidOut.
