Rashida Tlaib Made the Case On the House Floor on Why You Should Pay Her Student Loan Debt…No Really – Opinion

Radical left darling and squad member, Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, took the time yesterday to make a presentation on the House floor about why we should “cancel student loan debt.” The kicker was that she actually used herself as a prime candidate for wiping the slate clean.

The Hill posted the video. Tlaib is wailing about student loan debt. She was having trouble paying it off, as she wasn’t pursuing high-paying jobs. Instead, she was engaged in political activism. shouting “impeach the mother f***er”Crowds.

Tlaib’s request isn’t for all student loan debt to be wiped out. That can’t happen. To pay for the costs, that money must come from somewhere.

What she’s asking for is that you pay her bill like some kind of sugar daddy.

Tlaib wants to transfer the cost to the taxpayers, who have never taken on the debt. This effectively means she is paying for something that was not her choice. It really doesn’t help her case that Tlaib makes far more money than most people in America do thanks to her bloated congressional salary of $175,000 a year. Jazz Shaw wrote about it in his article. That puts Tlaib among the top 8 per cent of American households for salary earnings.

So it’s a relatively well-off woman advocating to force you, a taxpayer who statistically makes less than she does, to foot the bill for a degree you didn’t agree for her to have, nor agree to pay for.

Imagine yourself as someone who graduated from college with student debt. Instead of becoming an activist and joining non-profits, instead you work hard and climb up ladders to earn more with your degree, paying down all the student loans. Tlaib then calls for the forgiveness of all student loans in America. Tlaib may be supported by virtue signalers who might agree to her. But what happens if she does it and the taxpayers are forced to pay cash to make it happen? It’s not like you worked hard to get yours, but now it is being wiped out.

You’d be rightfully angry, and many like you would be demanding to have some of the money you used to pay off your debt to be returned to you. Next thing you know, taxpayers are being forced to hand over money to those who already had their debts paid off in the spirit of “fairness.”

It all ends.

It ends by realizing that Tlaib knows student loan debt won’t be forgiven and this is just a fun way to boost her popularity with hard leftists. Tlaib’s cause is not the most important one in America. In fact, student loan forgiveness doesn’t even rank in the top 20 of Americans’ concerns. A recent poll revealed that approval for the issue is on the decline.

It’s a losing battle for Tlaib, and one that, frankly, isn’t fair to everyone else who didn’t take on the debt.
