Rand Paul’s Latest Move With the NIH Shows He’s Beginning to Move In On Fauci – Opinion

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul isn’t messing around with Dr. Anthony Fauci, and made it clear that despite his retirement, he’s not just going to get to walk away from any wrongdoing. Paul and Fauci have had a contentious relationship for some time, with the Senator going above and beyond to get to the bottom of Fauci’s involvement with the creation of the Chinese COVID-19 virus.

Paul will keep his promise and turn his attention to the NIH. Paul sent a note to the NIH requesting them to keep any documents or communications pertaining to Fauci that date back to 1984 when he was first joining.

Paul wrote the Daily Caller to ask the NIH for a specific preservation of all electronic records and e-mails that Fauci shared during his time at NIH. The data relates to COVID-19 research or coronavirus research performed by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Fauci is the head of NIAID since 1984.

Paul also requested that the NIH notify former and current employees about any pertinent documents, communications, information, etc.

“Dr. Fauci misled Americans on the importance of public health advice during the pandemic. He also lied under oath to Congress and used tax money to finance dangerous research in communist China. The American people deserve transparency and accountability from the NIH regarding the COVID-19 pandemic regardless of Dr. Fauci’s future employment plans,” Paul told the Caller before sending the letter.

According to Caller, Paul’s letter to the NIH looks exactly like this:

“In light of this announcement, I formally request you ensure the preservation of all documents and communications within Dr. Fauci’s possession related to his tenure at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This information is critical to ensure that Congress has access to information necessary to conduct proper oversight regarding events that took place during Dr. Fauci’s tenure with the agency. I specifically ask that you retain all electronic records and e-mails created or shared by Dr. Fauci while he was at NIH. This includes data related to COVID-19. This preservation request also includes all records of official business conducted on non official accounts,” Paul wrote in the letter.

Paul’s pursuit of Fauci appears almost personal, and in a way, it might be. Paul is a libertarian conservative, and Fauci’s infringement of American liberties has been one of the most serious in recent decades. Paul could not only be seeking Fauci’s truth to prove his point, but he might also do this to show others how authoritarianism can be applied to American citizens.

To that, all I have to say to Paul is “good hunting.”
