Rand Paul and Tulsi Gabbard Listed as “Russian Propaganda” by Ukraine – Opinion

According to reports, Ukraine believes that many American politicians are Russian propagandists. This includes Kentucky Senator Rand Paul and the former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabrield.

According to Newsweek, the Ukrainian Center for Countering Disinformation is an organization founded by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in order to study the impact that “Russian disinformation” has on society. Paul and Gabbard have each been accused in the past of aiding Russian propaganda.

In April, Paul said President Joe Biden provoked Russia to invade its neighbor by advocating Ukraine’s entrance into NATO.

He also said: “You could also argue the countries they’ve attacked were part of Russia. Or part of the Soviet Union.”

Paul was immediately rebuked for this by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who said Russia was not justified in invading Ukraine.

Former Rep. Gabbard said that the U.S. had provoked Putin for many years and that there are 25 dangerous biolabs in Ukraine that could release deadly pathogens.

Also appearing on this list is journalist Glenn Greenwald who also supported Gabbard’s bio lab claims and also says that he didn’t want the U.S. to help Ukraine against Russia in order to avoid dragging the country into war.

Newsweek reported that Greenwald has already spoken out against the list, calling it “McCarthyite idiocy.”

Paul, one of few Senators who resisted sending the $40 billion package back to Ukraine in May, forced a vote on an amendment and stopped the package from being sent. The Kentucky senator was opposed to it given the current state of the United States economy and made the argument that Ukraine couldn’t be saved by “dooming the U.S. economy.”

Greenwald could be closer to truth. The list from Ukraine was likely created to allow people who are incontinenced by their narratives in any form, or do not agree with them in some way to become Russian friends in some manner. At this time, Russia’s social stock is at an all-time low around the globe, and politicians looking to discredit their opposition would do well to find a way to connect them to Russia.

Paul opposes sending billions to Ukraine. This makes him an obstacle Ukraine must overcome. It is unlikely that Paul will be stopped or his constituency will turn against him. But it could fool many of those people into thinking he is Russian.
