Putin Stripped Of Honors From Two Martial Arts Organizations

Russia’s national sports teams have been excluded from international tournaments left and right because of Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine, but now the president himself is personally feeling the repercussions of his decisions.

World Taekwondo stripped Puting from his honorary black belt in 2013 and has banned the Russian and Belarusian flags as well as national anthems during future events. 

Numerous prominent leaders from around the world have received honorary black belts in recent years. Independent UK reported that Donald Trump and Barack Obama were the U.S. Presidents, as well as Lee Myungbak (South Korean president) and other leaders from Spain and Indonesia, Pakistan, Indonesia, Indonesia, Honduras, Pakistan and Pakistan. But World Taekwondo said on Twitter that Putin went against the organization’s values by initiating the invasion.

“World Taekwondo’s thoughts are with the people of Ukraine and we hope for a peaceful and immediate end to this war,” World Taekwondo concluded.

The International Judo Federation has also issued a warning to the president. Putin, who had served as the honorary president since 2008 has been temporarily removed from that position. 

Putin, an avid participant in judo and co-author of several books about Judo. However, despite his love and status for Judo and the IJF’s rebuke, he is still a strong competitor.

“In light of the ongoing war conflict in Ukraine, the International Judo Federation announces the suspension of Mr. Vladimir Putin’s status as Honorary President and Ambassador of the International Judo Federation,” the IJF said in a statement.
