Police Have New Theory About Bob Saget’s Death, but It Raises Even More Questions – Opinion

As we previously reported, some doctors and experts have raised questions about how Bob Saget could have acquired such severe head injuries from what had previously been assumed to be a ‘fall’ in his hotel room. Various doctors described the multiple fractures he had on his head, saying things like the multiple fractures/trauma looked like something that you would get more from a 30-foot fall, a car accident, or getting hit with a baseball bat, not just a “bump” on the head.

The Daily Mail reports that Saget might have fallen on his head against the headboard of the bed and then suffered a brain injury. He later died on the same bed.

But the Medical Examiner never mentioned the headboard and just theorized there was an “unwitnessed fall backwards.” There was no visible injury when they found the body, the severe trauma was only found in the autopsy. And again, bumping his head on a headboard doesn’t appear to match the trauma, which indicates a much more serious incident, according to a variety of doctors, some of whom are calling for further investigation into the case.

Saget was found to have an abrasion of the scalp, a skull fracture, fractures at the base, and fractures around the eye sockets. Also, there were bleeding from the brain tissue, between it, and in the tissues covering it. A toxicology analysis didn’t show any illicit drugs or toxins in Saget’s body.

According to reports, the police think he was injured in his room because he couldn’t have been injured and then driven two hours — from Jacksonville where his show was that night to his hotel room — in that condition. I’m not sure that rules out anything happening at the hotel before going into the room or nearby.

The hotel says that the electric door lock showed there was only one entry — presumably, Saget coming in — and there was no entry until the hotel staffer opened it the next day.

The family of the deceased has filed a motion to stop any records being released, citing privacy concerns. The family is concerned about the possibility of photos being released. Family won and the court granted a temporary injunction to stop the release.

Candace Cameron Bure, who played Saget’s TV daughter D.J., was one who has questions.

Candace Cameron Bure, who was Saget’s co-star on Full House and its reboot Fuller House, said developments in the late actor’s death raise ‘a lot of questions’ and have led to a ‘difficult’ past few weeks.

‘It’s been difficult, these past couple of weeks, because of more things that have come out. And there’s a lot of questions,’ Cameron Bure told Fox and Friends on Wednesday.

‘And I’m trying honestly not to think about it in the sense that I just – I want to remember Bob and what a kind and loving and amazing person that he was. And let it be that,’ the actress concluded.
