Phoenix Drops Its Vaccine Mandate for City Employees—time for California to Fall in Line – Opinion

My colleague streiff beautifully covered the United States District Court Southern District of Georgia’s ruling which put another stake in the heart of Dementia Joe’s vaccine mandates. The court extended the immunity of federal contractors to all areas, including those in the jurisdictions that were covered by the ruling.

Although streiff was right to focus on the fact that companies with over 100 employees may still attempt to maintain their employer vaccine mandates, as discussed here, it’s a boost (pun intended!) for law enforcement, first response personnel, and civil servants, who had been on the cutting block while the 5th Circuit Courts of Appeal worked out the vaccine mandate lawsuits.

Thanks to other recent rulings, like the one RedState covered from the USDC—Eastern District of Missouri that stayed the healthcare workers vaccine mandate, the dominoes are tumbling rapidly, and some corporations are already abandoning their push to enforce vaccination mandates. As local Fox 8 Cleveland reported, mandates were lifted at both the Cleveland Clinic (and University Hospitals) last week.

University Hospitals and the Cleveland Clinic are suspending their COVID-19 vaccination mandates following a recent federal injunction.

In accordance with Centers for Medicare, Medicaid Services regulations, hospitals issued this policy weeks back.

“Come Jan. 4, unless there is further legal action, caregivers may continue to provide patient care services regardless of their vaccination status,” UH said in a statement on Thursday.

“Even though it is not a condition of employment at this time and CMS deadlines do not apply while the injunction remains in place, we continue asking our caregivers, in clinical and nonclinical positions, to get vaccinated or to seek an accommodation. We believe, consistent with the scientific consensus, that COVID-19 vaccines are the most effective way to protect our caregivers, patients and community.”

Last week Advent Health, a large chain of Florida hospitals, suspended its vaccines. They will not require their 83,000 employees to get vaccinated for COVID starting immediately.

Who would’ve thought that the City of Phoenix would fall so quickly to follow?

In light of today’s federal court ruling, temporarily blocking a requirement for all federal contract workers getting the #COVID19The city of vaccine #PHXThe federal mandate that city workers must be immunized by January 18th will not be implemented. This is to halt its implementation.

Phoenix is a progressive-leaning city in a mostly Republican Arizona, so their quick action is not only huge, but may well be a bellwether on the shift in other cities and states who adopted the Biden administration’s EO 14042 as gospel and goose-stepped accordingly.

Which country will change their direction? Who are the next ones to abandon mandates? Los Angeles and California’s entire State would make the best choices.

Eric Garcetti of Los Angeles, who is a dual citizen with one in India and Los Angeles, has signed legislation that required all city employees to be immunized by December 18. If they don’t, their jobs will be terminated. This mandate could be canceled before Garcetti even boards a plane.

Gavin Newsom, Governor of California was the first to announce a mandatory statewide vaccination mandate for government workers on July 26. Of course, his union friends were exempted, but that’s a story for another day.

Hair Gel left the state for the third time in two months, this time to promote his children’s book. Yet, thanks to Newsom, California remains in a “state of emergency,” because the twin variants of Delta and Omicron are just too scary. He was not afraid to go, since some animals can be more equal than others.

If we had a real national press, rather than the legacy media cheerleaders, His Hairfulness would get asked why he felt the need to leave his state for such a trivial thing as selling books at such a critical time in its fight against Omicron <insert *Eyeroll* emoji>. Next, they will need to question him about the USDC ruling and ask him if he plans on suspending his vaccination mandate for statewide employees.

We’ll wait….
