Have you ever tried to make a living off your cockroaches.
Unfortunately, the revenue-generating deadbeats that are your six-legged current roommates will probably remain.
However, if you’re willing to open your doors to dozens more dictyopteran denizens, you and your family could have a veritable money machine crawling around and crapping in your carpet. Maybe even in your middle-of-the-night mouths.
The New York Post reports that a North Carolina pest control company is giving big bucks to homeowners who value easy money.
You and your household will receive two grand from the Pest Informer. Then, all that is required of you is to extend a gracious welcome to another member.
[The]A company offers $2,000 to homeowners to let 100 cockroaches be released in their home. [houses].
You can let them make it their own home. No need to give them the tour; they’ll find every nook and cranny unassisted.
The company’s coughing up copious amounts of cash because they’d like to see if an innovative method of removal actually works:
[T]he Pest Informer is making the offer to homeowners in an attempt to test out “a specific pest control technique” and see how effective it is.
If you’d like to find out whether they’ll be able to rid you of those roaches, you’d better act fast; Per ThePestInformer.com, space is limited:
We need to hire 5-7 households owners in order to bring 100 American Cockroaches into their homes.
Indeed, they’d like to “gauge how effective [the] treatment is.”
The study will last “approximately 30 days.” During that period, might the roaches get biblical and multiply?
Here’s some online information on American roach gestation:
The ootheca is a capsule that contains eggs. It’s used by females to lay their eggs. For a period of ten months they produce one ootheca per month, each capsule holding 16 or more eggs. The egg case is usually carried by pregnant cockroaches for several days, before being placed in a secure place. American roaches live for about 44 days.
While forty-four is clearly more than thirty, some females could get lost in the process of removal and be left to raise their rugrats from your toothbrush drawer.
You might also consider visiting Blattodea to be a mother if you are already pregnant. Cockroach Zone explains how you can determine:
You can tell a female cockroach is infertile if there’s a small brown bump on her bottom. The ootheca is a bean-shaped sac that usually holds 16-40 eggs. A female cockroach can have up to 14 eggs capsules and produce as many as 400 offspring during her lifetime.
You run the chance of all 100 roaches being males and infecting the other eligible arthropods.
But what’s a house full of roaches if you’ve got $2,000? That’s enough for nearly two tanks of Biden-era gas.
You can also use your large sum of money for other purposes:
- This is for the men reader. A way to get a beautiful piece of jewelry. Don’t tell her about the deal you’ve made; surprises are romantic.
- A first-month’s rent for your suddenly-single bachelor pad, should that amorous effort fail.
Are you ready to sign up? These are the rules of The Pest Informer
- The homeowner must approve your written permission or you must be the owner of the property.
- To be eligible, you must be at least 21 years old
- The location must be in the Continental United States

- This study lasts approximately 30 days.
“If you believe you’re in the right household for the job,” the site says, “please fill out our application form below and we’ll get back to you shortly!”
And if the new method of extermination doesn’t work, have no fear:
At the end of the study, if the cockroach infestation hasn’t been eliminated, we will use traditional cockroach treatment options at no cost to you.
This seems like an excellent opportunity. We wish you all the best.
