Houston police are looking for a man who successfully obtaining a divorce from his wife – without ever telling her.
Paul Nixon, 51, is accused of committing aggravated perjury by filing and completing a divorce without his wife’s consent, CBS affiliate KTVT reported.
Harris County Constable Precinct 4 constable Mark Herman said in a Tuesday Facebook post that law enforcement is actively looking for Nixon.
Nixon’s wife informed authorities in May that her husband had “filed for divorce and completed the entire proceedings without her knowledge or consent and that the court had already completed all hearings and filed the final divorce decree,” according to the post.
Following an inquiry, investigators discovered Nixon had submitted several forged documents and false information to a Harris County District Court 257, Herman said.
Nixon then committed perjury while attesting to the validity of the documents at a final divorce hearing, according to police.
A motion to set aside the divorce due to the fraud has since been granted.

In July, an Ohio man escaped the sexual advances of his girlfriend by running out of her apartment and locking himself inside a car.
When Warren police responded to a report that Khrystian Collins, 24, had locked himself inside a woman’s Kia Optima and refused to come out, Collins told an officer that he was hiding out from his sex-crazed girlfriend and that her apartment was too hot.
Police charged Collins with domestic violence, trespass, obstructing official business and resisting arrest.
