Our Culture of Violence | Newsbusters

Again, this has occurred in plain sight. An insane barbarian got his hands on military-grade war weapons and began to wage war against innocents. Recently, the victims were Blacks, as they are Black. The reason it wasn’t children was that they weren’t defenseless, or because their parents took them to school. It is possible that there are more casualties. There have doubtless been fewer casualties between the atrocities in Buffalo, New York and Uvalde tragedy, Texas.

As though there were a plausible reason for this crime, we are instructed to wait to hear from Uvalde’s motivation. But it won’t. It will not under any circumstance. Uvalde’s act was at best an evil act. This is what the devil himself vouchsafed. Let Salvador Ramos roast in hell.

We are now told by the authorities that parents of soon-to be killed young men wanted to enter the room where their children were being slaughtered. However, they refused to allow this to happen. These so-called authorities, presumably from school officials and law enforcement agencies, barred angry parents from entering the area where their children were held. You saw the armoured officers protecting the parents in their desperate situation? That was what I saw. It was quite shocking.

I was reminded of similar, but less dire situations in which school authorities rejected protests from parents. The treatment of children by school “authorities”, who are obsessed with transgender obscurantism and anger management and other progressive elements have been opposed by parents.

Most Americans are aware of the stages in this situation. Then there will be outrage from those in power. There will be outrage from those who govern us. Then there will be contumely directed at anyone who disagrees with the accepted wisdom. Gun control advocates will have no problems with the fact that around 400 million guns are in existence. Of course, some legislation will be passed. Next, we’ll move onto the next example of…

These shocking events may have led some to believe that America faces something more grave than gun violence. They’re right. It is difficult to live in such a violent world. It is something that no one mentions, yet we all are. My television is rarely on. I only watch the evening news. However, even though I am watching the news at night, I often see trailers of horrendously violent shows being promoted as entertainment. Recenty, I witnessed a man attach a revolver onto the head of another person. I was disinterested after that. I don’t know what else happened. Monstrous cars ran down pedestrians, which I believe was pedestrians. There were monstrous beasts that I witnessed. Televisionland has a lot of monstrous creatures and fanciful people.

Although it is difficult to believe that everyday Americans would come home from work and turn on television and indulge in an evening full of madness and mayhem, the truth is they do. So many people struggle to sleep. You have the talk show, rock music, and game shows. And then there’s the weather report. Although I joke about weather reports, I know that one day inclement weather events will result with thunder, rain and lightning, as well as tornadoes on particularly stormy days.

Who are you going to challenge the entertainment industry’s monopoly? Is there anyone who will challenge Walt Disney’s ghost, or the entertainment industry? At the moment, there is no gun control group that can effectively manage guns or tame our violence culture. There is not an organized group that thinks about violence. Not Mothers Against Prime-Time Television or Mothers Against Violent Video Games. And there’s no Ralph Nader who can harangue Hollywood.

The symptom of something much more widespread than gun violence is these solitary gunmen. Our culture needs to be free from violence and coarseness. It won’t happen.
