The Biden defenders at National Public Radio previewed a meeting of American Catholic bishops in Baltimore to discuss whether President Biden and other pro-abortion politicians should be denied communion for being dramatically out of sync with church teaching.
Monday, Morning EditionAnchor Noel King stated that the Vatican could disagree with them and many Catholics might not.
NPR reporter Sarah McCammon, who covers “the intersection of politics and religion,” told listeners “According to a survey last year by the Pew Research Center, Ruiz is among more than half of American Catholics who believe abortion should be legal in most or all cases.” Really? You should look into this poll. The poll seems to be from 2019.
Two-thirds (67%) of Catholics who attend Mass weekly, or more frequently than usual believe abortion should be illegal.One-third (33%) believed it should be legal in most or all cases. For those who go to Mass less often, the ratio is nearly reversed: About two thirds of Catholics (65%) said that abortion should be legal in most or all cases. Only one in three (32%) believed it should not be.
A majority of Catholics who identify with the Republican Party or are inclined toward it (63%) believed abortion should have to be illegal in most or all instances. But, an even greater percentage who identify as Democrats and lean this way (77%) thought abortion should be legal.…
A lot of “ordinary Catholics,” favor abortion because it’s normal to be a Democrat. NPR’s coverage of religion implies Democrats are the “ordinary” ones, and their stories suggest Democrats should set the agenda for every church.
McCammon made soundbites and shocked two ordinary Catholics! Both are in support of the Democrat position. Oregon’s “Cradle Catholic Renee Ruiz” (13 years Catholic school) is pro-choice. Her opinion is that some Catholic leaders’ focus on abortion is wrong. She’s essentially the same as Terry McAuliffe and Biden.
Amy Kemerer from Indianapolis was featured, where she “attends mass every week and home-schools all four of her kids.” While she claims that Trump won her vote, the bishops should not be discussing this. It’s divisive and it is dividing Catholics more. The church is already in pain. They’re further dividing and causing more suffering in the church. These rules have been in place for many thousands of years. These rules don’t have to be changed.
It’s the traditional teaching of the church against abortion that has “been there since thousands upon years”. It is being rewritten by Biden, Pelosi and other members of the group.
McCammon featured Father John Paul Kimes, a priest who took the traditional teachings of the Church. “Kimes says Catholics participating in grave sin should not try to take Communion in the first place.” NPR is unanimous in stating that the “ordinary Catholics”, however, are unanimous.
NPR’s belief that Catholics don’t go to church make them the “ordinary Catholics,” is quite fascinating. What about conservative Americans who believe that NPR is not a good source of information? Their “bad faith” opinions shouldn’t be considered when discussing about how to run taxpayer-funded radio. They do not offer any “genuine criticism” like other NPR listeners of the Democrat party.
