NPR Reporter: FBI Raid Has ‘Right-Wing Media’ ‘Blindly Tethered to Trump Once More’

David Folkenflik (National Public Radio’s media reporter) is an expert Fox News fan. A whole book about him was published. Murdoch’s World. On Wednesday’s Morning Edition They brought him in to evaluate the reaction of the right-wing media to Trump’s FBI raid. He wrote that they had been “blindly tied to Trump again.”

Morning anchor A Martinez brought him on alongside reporter Deirdre Walsh, who discussed Republican politician reaction. He asked Folkenflik:

MARTINEZ, David. What about the conservative airwaves. This is how it’s being presented.

FOLKENFLIK – I have to say that it was a full-throated defense against the ex president. It depicted him as a victim and a martyr, and also showed him as one who could stop an oppressive federal government from taking power over you. You can see that if you go to Newsmax, PJ Media, Townhall or Townhall conservative radio – there was one who went on Fox News. He said it seemed like a preemptive coup. It was also You saw a lot of Fox figures and stars presenting the news in very dire terms, sometimes even apocalyptic. Let’s start with Jesse Watters, one of the rising stars. This is what he said last night.

JESSE WATTERS : Never was the base so angry. I’m angry. I feel violated. All of the country feels like this. It’s disgusting. It’s disgusting.

FOLKENFLIK. Watters stated that the information clearly came from the top. This is a nod to President Biden. Biden stated, however, that he had learned of this through the press. It is impossible to report otherwise. This is still an underlying narrative. It’s not only on Jesse Watters, but throughout Fox, that President Biden created this story to take out former President Donald Trump.

It is amazing to see how trusting liberal journalists can become in believing that Trump’s Attorney General had told anyone in the White House that he would approve of a raid. Folkenflik wouldn’t assume Rupert Murdoch wasn’t aware of what was happening in his businesses. Folkenflik can see NPR’s promotion of Republicans as an “apoto-authoritarian” cult, which is a potentially apocalyptic term.

Folkenflik then made fun of right-wing media for being fact-averse.

MARTINEZ: David! Why is this the message, when we know the FBI cannot get warrants without going through certain procedures and getting the approval of a judge?

FOLKENFLIK – Well, Fox News is the biggest player in this whole thing. They will recognize this in particular in their news and not just in opinion shows.Facts are sometimes dismissed or ignored.Trump uses this story to support his narrative. It stems back to his start in 2015 for his presidential campaign. The idea of the Deep State is an attempt at discrediting institutions and professionals, and the so-called elites outside government. This includes the media, particularly those who oppose Trump, and law enforcement.

A Martinez, morning anchor and Morning Anchor on Fox News suggested that Fox and the other right-leaning media had “truly stood by Trump through thick or thin.” Folkenflik stated that there were “signs and cracks” in the relationship with Fox, which Fox had “started to distance itself away from Trump.” But “However, Trump has taken Fox’s position after the events of the past 36 hours. It’s leading the pack but also trying to catch up, knowing its viewers already are there.
