Ronald Reagan famously observed: “The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they’re ignorant; it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.” Yeah, well, the Gipper was a bit more gracious and tactful toward the left than is your humble political pundit. Then again, the Democrat Party in Ronald Reagan’s time and the Democrat Party of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are not the same Jackass animal. Not even close.
Here’s an example
The Democrat Party, “led” by the Biden administration and various federal departments, and Senate Democrats continue to refuse to define “woman,” following in the footsteps of newly-confirmed Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson and Here refusal to do the same during Senate confirmation hearings, insisting she was not qualified to make the call because she’s not a biologist.
Enter, the ever-incisive AOC — to sort out the confusion.
In one of her more Mensa-level moments, our erstwhile bartender got out over her skis with an attempted logic question, convoluted and non sequitur as hell as it is, as she chided Republicans for attempting “to police who is a woman and who isn’t.” Sorry, no. Scientists and chromosomes do this already.
How is it that the party who believes corporations are people are suddenly trying to police who is a woman and who isn’t? These are the same people who think Arby’s is a legal human being. I don’t see them assigning genders to their shady little LLCs. Please, give me some grace.
Huh?

Let’s go to Justin Haskins, executive editor and a research fellow at The Heartland Institute, for the spot-on and well-deserved beatdown.
It sounds like you are a fool. Nobody says corporations are individuals. They are people owned and have rights. While you may not agree with this, it is important to be truthful and thoughtful.

It is hard to know the exact meaning of this Mensa budding member. The “corporate tax breaks” narrative being equal to the “wealthy people need to pay their fair share” canard? According to Tax Policy Center in 2019, the top 20% of taxpayers paid 78% of federal income taxes. This is an increase of 68 percent from 2019. Taxpayers in the top 1 percent were responsible for paying 28 percent in taxes in 2020. This is an increase of 25 percent from 2019. A total of 61 percent Americans have paid no federal taxes.
Thing is, AOC has not been “overly fond” of corporations in the first place. Brandon Morse (my colleague) reported that AOC was unhappy with Amazon’s 2019 deal with New York and Nothern Virginia for the split of its headquarters. The agreement provided as many as 25,000.
AOC’s problem? “Outrage.”
Amazon is a multi-billion dollar company. It is very concerning that Amazon will get tax incentives worth millions, at a moment when the subway is in disrepair and where our communities require more investment.
Uh-huh. Not “more investment” directly related to 25,000 jobs; more “investment,” as in direct, taxpayer handouts. Be honest. Socialist Bernie™ and the 1,064th Native American™ were unavailable for comment.
Amazon is a multi-billion dollar company. Residents here are extremely concerned by the idea of Amazon receiving tax cuts worth hundreds of millions in tax, at a moment when our subway system is crumbling and communities require MORE investment.

Ironically, in February, the noted economist blathered yet another of her ridiculous predictions, this time warning of a “very real risk” that democracy won’t exist in ten years. How rich, coming from.the self-declared “Democratic Socialist” poster child of the Democrat Party.
