Beto O’Rourke is in. Today the former senatorial, presidential and unsuccessful candidate for governor of Texas announced that he would be running again. His style was typical of Beto, with a lot too much polishing and an inauthenticity.

He’s also recycling the logo he used during his senate run, which looks almost exactly like a Whataburger spicy ketchup packet.
I’m running for governor.
Together, we can push past the small and divisive politics that we see in Texas today — and get back to the big, bold vision that used to define Texas. Texas large enough for everyone.

I’d give an alternate headline here, but I already included it in the actual headline. Beto O’Rourke is about to set a whole bunch of money on fire. This guy lost to Ted Cruz despite a terrible year for Republicans. He was struggling to appeal to his base because of past conflicts with Donald Trump. Now Gov. Greg Abbott was elected Governor by a margin of double digits.
Beto is not going to compete on any other planet. If Democrats were smart, they wouldn’t invest a dime in this race. There is no pathway for any Democrat, much less one who once bragged about taking people’s AR15s, to win statewide in Texas in 2022. This will not be changed by skateboarding to low-attended rallies or dropping f-bombs in camera.
O’Rourke stated that he would not be hesitant to allow mandatory assault weapons purchaseback within the gov race. “I think most Texans can agree…that we should not see our friends, our family…our neighbors, shot up w/ weapons that were originally designed for use on a battlefield” https://t.co/x6Wc59WCGN

Beto, like many politicians of years past, is a mirage — a man with no foundation that crumbles when the lights come on. He is a normal-rate leftwing Democrat, with poor ideas and a history of shooting himself in his foot, who the press portrays as a transformational, galvanizing figure. Can anyone believe Texas will elect an anti-gun and big-government Liberal in a year that Republicans are poised to regain both chambers? Without a shred of doubt, I predict that Beto will lose.
Consider how many people you could help with the millions of dollars Californian and New York liberals will send to him. It is a complete waste of money. Republicans should not waste money on unwinnable elections by Democrats.
