After the landslide, they asked Cheney if she would run for president in 2024, ignoring all proof that she drove her political car off a cliff. Savannah Guthrie repeatedly pressed Cheney for her support of the Democrats’ majority control in Congress. They want her sound completely like a Democrat. Democracies are only real and secure when Democrats win.
All of them failed to realize that Cheney isn’t a Republican’s choice, despite being portrayed by Dan Rather as a hero. CNN’s Nia-Malika, the analyst for CNN, correctly stated that Cheney’s support base is “the Beltway media.” Their polling guru Harry Enten noted Cheney’s favorable-unfavorable numbers were -10 among all voters. The difference is between -53 and Republicans as well as -17 among independents and +36 for Democrats.
