New Poll Shows Biden’s Support Among Black America Waning – Opinion

While Democrats still hold the largest share of Black votes in America, a poll has shown that Biden’s support is declining in Black communities.

RedState reported that a poll by ABC/Ipsos shows Biden stumbling on topics like inflation (71% disapproval rating), gasoline prices (72% disapproval rating), and economic recovery (61% disapproval rating).

A Washington Post/Ipsos survey shows that Black Americans are not happy with the president. While the polling shows that 70 percent of the 1250 respondents approve of Biden’s performance, only 23 percent “strongly approve.” This may seem like an irrelevant difference, but the shift in certainty could be representative of the public frustration over Biden’s failure to keep his campaign promises.

Black Americans in particular were moved by the Biden/Harris campaign’s unkeepable promise to forgive student debt. Biden tried to gin up the Black voter base by recalling the days of the Democrat-led, segregated South, calling Georgia’s election reform laws “Jim Crow 2.0.” However, his hyperbole lost a lot of steam after Georgia turned out record numbers in primary voting. Black voters feel the pain of rising inflation and high gas prices like all others.

While the Black vote may not shift dramatically, polling indicates apathy. This could help to keep many voters in their homes during the midterm election.

It was conducted between April 21 and May 2. The survey used a random selection of 1 248 adults of different races, as well as a partial overlap of 977 adults. There is an error margin of 3.5 percent. – The Hill
