Nets Lobby Hard for Dem Gun Grabbing Schemes, Trash 2nd Amendment

A day after the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas in which nineteen children and two teachers were shot and killed, the evening news networks continued their ghoulish coverage of standing on the graves of the children who died to lobby for the Democrat Party’s gun-grabbing agenda.

The most obnoxious coverage as per usual was from leftist hack and pseudo journalist Rachel Scott who screeched and sneered at Republican Senators for blocking the Democrat’s “popular” gun control laws.

ABC during the week World News Tonight’s coverage, Scott went through a list of polling results that show “56 percent support an assault weapons ban. A red flag law would allow authorities to take temporarily guns from those considered to be hazardous. 86 percent of respondents support it. And 89 percent support background checks.” Scott huffed that “for most Republicans on Capitol Hill, those issues are nonstarters.”

Scott ran up and down Congress, harassing Republican Senators as well as Senator Kyrsten Silena (D–AZ).

RACHEL SCOTT – The overwhelming majority of Americans are in favor of expanded background checks. We should all support this.

SEN. RICK SCOTT: Unfortunately, what some people do is immediately want to take people’s second amendment rights away and I’m not willing to do that.

SCOTT: A lot of Republicans were reluctant to discuss the subject. Would you like to see expanded background checks supported by the majority of Americans?

A majority of Americans are in favor of background checks. Do you support it?

SCOTT: Senator Sinema. Do you support the Senate changing its rules to allow for gun control legislation to be passed? Nineteen children were killed. We need your opinion.

The opportunistic gun control lobbying wasn’t just isolated to ABC. CBS Evening NewsTony Dokoupil, guest anchor of the broadcast, dedicated the final segment of the broadcast for snarky remarks about the Second Amendment of the Constitution.

Dokoupil referred to comments Texas Governor Greg Abbott made regarding children as a blessing. The leftist anchor agreed that “children are a blessing, guns are a right in this country because of 27 words the founding fathers tucked into the Bill of Rights in 1791.”

Before signing off, Dokoupil pretentiously lectured that “our collective inability to stop the menace of mass shootings though in this country counts for nothing less than a curse.”

Continue reading NBC Nightly News, chief White House correspondent Kristen Welker bemoaned the fact that “there has only been inaction when it comes to the issue of mass shootings” and that since the “federal ban on assault weapons expired. Mr. Biden repeatedly called for it to be reimposed” yet much to the dismay of the leftist media, the federal assault weapons ban has never been reimposed.

Angi, Xyzal, and Liberty Mutual made the advocacy of gun control possible on ABC, CBS, and NBC. You can link to their information.

RACHEL SOTT: American voters want changes. 56 percent of Americans support banning assault weaponry. 86% support a red-flag law that allows authorities to temporarily remove guns from dangerous people. A majority of those surveyed support background checks. These issues, however, are not of interest to most Republicans at Capitol Hill.

Majority of Americans are in favor of expanded background checks. It is a good idea to support this.

Democrat Joe Manchin, and Republican Pat Toomey proposed a bill expanding background checks for online sales. But it still needs to be passed by 60 votes. The rules for passing it must be changed by Senate Democrats to allow it to pass with a simple majority. Arizona Senator Kyrsten Silema won’t allow that.

Senator Sinema: Do you favor changing Senate rules to allow for gun control legislation to be passed? Nineteen children have been killed! We need your opinion.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott requested that state lawmakers consider adopting a red flag legislation in 2018, but Republicans refused to do so. He eventually gave up. David. Texas actually has relaxed its gun laws since that time.

ED O’KEEFE: The stalemate is part of a pattern that stretches back to the rise of mass shootings of the 1990s. Presidents signaled the country’s collective grief.

BILL CLINTON – The prayers of American citizens are for you.

GEORGE W. BUSH: Today is a day for mourning in the Virginia Tech community.

BARACK OBAMA : Their entire lives were ahead of them.

O’KEEFE: But then, very little is done.

TONY DOKOUPIL – Texas Governor Greg Abbott stated today that children are blessings and gifts that were taken too quickly from Uvalde parents. While it is true that children are blessings, guns are right here in the United States because of the 27 words written by the founder fathers in the Bill of Rights, 1791. So the real question here is: Have the times and weapons evolved beyond their original purpose? We may be finally ready for this discussion in America. Children are a blessing. Guns should be a human right. Our collective inability in this country to end mass shootings in terror is nothing but a curse.

KRISTEN WELKER — Governor Abbott has signed seven laws to ease gun restrictions, including one that permits law-abiding Texans aged 21 and older to legally carry a firearm in public places without a permit. Federal law permits 18-year olds to own the long guns used by the shooter. Abbott supports loosening restrictions.

GOV. GREG ABBOTT (Chicago): Chicago has real gun laws. This is something I regret to tell you, but Chicago houses more shootings per week than Texas schools.

(…)

WELKER: Mass shootings have been dealt with inaction. The federal ban on assault guns was lifted in 2004. Biden has repeatedly called for its reinstatement. Following the Sandy Hook shooting, Congress nearly passed widely supported expanded background checks in 2013. However, it was thwarted by red-state Democrats and Republicans. The Trump administration also banned bump stocks in 2019. These devices increase the rate that semiautomatic weapon fire can be used, an action which had only limited success. Tonight, the senate’s top Democrat said he’ll give his colleagues more time to try to find common ground but acknowledged the chances are slim. Lester?
