Nets Cry About ‘A Blow to The Biden Admin’ Over SCOTUS Vaccine Decision

After the United States Supreme Court had overturned the Biden administration’s COVID vaccination mandate for businesses employing more than 100 people, evening news broadcasts were in chaos mode.

After her broadcast, CBS Evening NewsAnchor Norah O’Donnell announces that in a somber tone, she is anchor “Tonight, a blow for the Biden Administration as COVID matters careen outof control across the U.S. Supreme Court blocks President’s proposal to mandate that large-sized private businesses require their employees to test for COVID every week or to get vaccinated.Of course, she ended her remarks with a positive spin on the Biden administration and exclaimed “The court has granted the mandate to most of the healthcare workers.”

The Supreme Court blocked the Biden administration’s ability to impose a mandate on large companies for vaccine testing and vaccinations. This was a major blow to the White House. This policy would have had an impact on more than 80,000,000 employees. It required that they be vaccinated, wear masks, and submit to weekly testing.

Bruce reported that anchor David Muir defended the vaccine mandate. He recalled how United Airlines experienced a decrease in COVID-related cases following the mandate’s enactment.

Watch more on NBC Nightly News Lester Holt was apparently the anchor and received similar talking points to CBS and ABC. Lester Holt opened his program by complaining about “A major setback for the White House COVID Strategy. After that open, Holt continued to whine “it’s a decision impacting more than 80 million workers. The court did not remove a vaccine mandate that was applicable to most health workers in the country.

It is hard to understand how people such as Lester Holt, who I am willing to wager is vaccinated, care whether someone else is. This is your personal decision. Leftist media must find another reason to be unhappy.

NORAH O’DONNELL: We start tonight with some very significant decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court. These two rulings are a mixed bag that directly affect nearly 100 millions Americans. Although the court’s conservative majority states that the Biden Administration does not have authority to imposition a vaccine/test rule on private corporations, they do have the right to order COVID shots for all health workers. Biden said he regretted the “common-sense” decision not to allow large companies to be subjected to vaccine or test requirements. However, he believes that it will help save many lives by keeping the federal rule in place for nurses and doctors who work in areas that get federal assistance. This decision comes as the U.S. faces a record number of hospitalizations and a rise in cases. Nearly 63% are fully vaccinated at the time we arrive on-air.

MARY BRUCE – Tonight the Supreme Court stopped the Biden Administration from mandating large business to comply with a vaccination and testing mandate. More than 80 million workers would be affected by the policy. They were required to get vaccinated. Conservative justices argued that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (also known as OSHA), which oversees the mandate, doesn’t have the power to regulate public health.

JUSTICE NEL GORSUCH: OSHA does not have a tradition of mandating other vaccines to protect against other dangers that might — could pose a serious risk. Every year, the flu is fatal. There are other grave diseases that can also be fatal.

BRUCE. The court ruled today 6-3 with the liberal justices Breyer and Sotomayor dissenting. “In the face a still-raging epidemic, this court informs the agency that it may have to protect worker safety in not all workplaces.” While many Republicans are cheering the decision by the court to stop the mandate, the President said that he was disappointed that the Supreme Court chose to reject common-sense lifesaving measures for large-scale employees of large companies that were grounded in science and law. In a win for the White House however, the court has allowed the mandate for vaccines to be continued for federally-funded healthcare facilities. The move will have a significant impact on more than 17million workers. He hailed the decision tonight, saying that it will save many lives. The onus now lies upon employers and states to follow his lead. United Airlines stated that before establishing their own mandate for vaccines, they were seeing one death per week due to COVID. He stated, “We have now achieved zero COVID-related deaths in our vaccinated employees for eight weeks.”

DAVID MURIR: This is their mandate from United Airlines. Tonight, let’s live-stream Mary Bruce at the White House. Mary, you did it there. Tonight the President now trying to place this on the states and on individual employers  — saying the Supreme Court’s decision, quote, does not stop me from using my voice as President to advocate for employers. He said he was going to do everything right in order to safeguard the economy and American health.

BRUCE. David, the White House will continue to fight this battle. They believe, despite the court ruling that mandates for large corporations encouraged millions of Americans and drove companies such as United to act on their own. The President has urged other large companies to follow his lead. David?

Mary Bruce, thank-you for your MUIR.

LESTER HOLTS: First, a major blow to White House’s COVID strategy. Today’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling against President Trump’s vaccination and testing mandates to large employers, ruled the requirements are too extreme. It’s a decision impacting more than 80 million workers. The court left intact the separate mandate to vaccinate most health workers in the country. As the total number of Americans who have been fully vaccinated reaches more then 208 million, 63% of Americans are covered by the rulings.
