You don’t have to like Nancy Pelosi and her policies — I know I sure as hell don’t. You should admire her for fighting for her cause and not giving up. It would be a great thing if the Republicans had more of her like it. This country wouldn’t be in such a mess if the Grand Ole Party had more people like her.
Just 25 or 30 savvy types like Pelosi in Congress on the “R” side and we would have never gotten railroaded by Obamacare and a number of other massive federal government boondoggles.
Even the most seasoned of people will have to give up. Of course, not because they want to but Father Time is a bit of an @$$%^&* and he takes everyone prisoner eventually.
It doesn’t matter if your first speaker of the House of Representatives. He/SheYou can choose from many and once they were dethroned, but she stayed on as leader of the caucus long enough to win the gavel back. Nancy Pelosi, a Democratic Speaker from California, laughed at a Sunday question asking her if she’d run in the 2022 election. She said she would talk to her family first before making public her decision.
Pelosi appeared surprised when CNN’s “State of the Union” host Jake Tapper asked about whether she would run again for her congressional seat, which she has held since 1987.
“I do want to ask about your own future in Congress. Are you going to run for reelection?” Tapper asked.
“Oh, you think I’m going to make an announcement right here and now?” she responded.
The California Democrat has been mum about her future in Congress and whether she would seek the Speaker’s gavel if Democrats retain their majority in the 2022 midterm elections.
Ouch. Obviously, Jake Tapper is no longer on Nancy Pelosi’s CHRISTmas card list.
Now just a little further down the article, they get to why Nancy is a bit touchy about this being asked — because she had to “allegedly” cut a deal after last November’s election to keep the gavel after the Democrats lost seats when they were all expecting to ADD to their majority.
House Democrats agitated for change to their party’s leadership following their loss of the chamber in 2016 and then losing 13 seats in 2020 after predictions indicated major gains. With 222 seats, it created the smallest Democratic majority in decades. Republicans were able to hold 212.
Pelosi was reelected Speakership in an unusually dramatic vote in January. She had promised that it would be her last.
That Pelosi said she would not run again for Speaker was the worst kept rumor last December in Washington D.C. and was what kept AOC and her girl gang “The Squad” from offering a challenge to Pelosi as the top Democrat in the House last year. Pelosi is not a good opponent to the radical leftists in her caucus. She has been involved in some spats, as I reported here. Also, I can’t blame her for not wanting to tell the world on Jake Tapper’s lowly-rated show on CNN. It is absurd that anyone would want to do such an announcement on a network barely anyone watches.
