It was only days ago that we were supporting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in her defiance of China, but it would now seem she’s gotten back in line and is bowing at their feet.
During an interview on NBC News’s “Today” show, Pelosi got onto the subject of the communist nation and said that “our” policy is still the “one China policy” which recognizes formal relationships with China rather than Taiwan, whom China sees as a breakaway province it will one day reabsorb.
She went on to call China “one of the freest societies in the world” and a “strong democracy.”

Pelosi credits this compliment to China, not on herself, but to an organization known as “Freedom House.” Going to what it has said about China, you can see that the organization isn’t too complimentary of it themselves:
China’s ruling Communist Party (CCP), continues to exert control over every aspect of life and governance. This includes the state bureaucracy and online speech. It has also undermined a previous series of minor rule-of law reforms. Xi Jinping (CCP leader, state president) has consolidated personal power at a level not seen since decades in China.
China, a communist dictatorship, is clearly able to impose inexcusable force upon its own citizens. It also seizes any opportunity it has to exert its control over citizens. China has made Hong Kong a communist dictatorship, transforming it from a country free to its rulers in just a few short weeks.
The police even used the force of law to kill protestors.
This sudden turnaround comes after Pelosi defied China’s demands and flew to Taiwan. Pelosi was cheered on by Americans who saw it as an important message to Chinese officials: America doesn’t fear throwing its weight around even towards China.
China has since placed sanctions on Pelosi, her family, and stopped talks regarding military actions and climate policy.
It seems that the House Speaker has lost her fight against Chinese communists. She is happy to paint them as an equivalent of countries with a Constitution republic.
Pelosi has sabotaged our enemies and every pro-American ounce of resistance has disappeared.
