Mysterious Ammunition Dump Explosion Rocks Russia and Did Ukraine Nearly Kill Russia’s Top Military Officer? – Opinion

On Sunday, explosions destroyed the Russian ammunition dump at Tomorovka in Russia. Tomorovka lies just to the west of Belgorod, and only 40 miles from Kharkiv, Ukraine’s stronghold city. This ammunition dump could be crucial in supporting the Russian offensive against Donbas. The claim of responsibility isn’t made so this could just be yet another mysterious fire plaguing Russian strategic facilities and the Donbas Opera support installations. A Ukrainian rocket attack decimated the Russian Second Army’s headquarters in Izium on Saturday as they tried to escape their Izium salient. You can see the video below.

The Electronics Intelligence Network (ELINT) helped locate the headquarters. Ironically, Major General Andrei Simonov, who was one of those killed, was also reported to have been among them. His command was electronic warfare for the Donbas offensive.

It is probable that the amount and quality of the rocket blasts caused the deaths and destruction of valuable records, equipment and documents.

This command-post story has an interesting twist. Sources say that Friday’s posting by me was Russian Army in Ukraine under Major Command Shakeup. It was clear that Putin is, according to some, abandoning domestic policy in order to give 100% of his incredible brain to the conflict he has triggered. Valery Gerasimov was ordered by the Russian General Staff to assume the direct command in the war against Ukraine.

Multiple sources have reported that Gerasimov was present at the headquarters during the attack. Before he could travel to Moscow, he was badly wounded.

Any top-down organisation like the Russian Army will be thrown into chaos and lethargy by the destruction of this command post. Gerasimov might have been present, and you would bet the Second Army commander also was. hors de combat. Any Russian Army mission that they want to complete in the next three to cinci days won’t happen until there is a new commander and staff.

Putin has a unique public relations dilemma if Gerasimov is wounded. An electronic device and poor signaling can make a soldier a villain.
