On Tuesday, a pro-life referendum in Kansas went down to defeat, a ballot initiative that would have removed abortion rights from the state’s constitution. Showing that there’s no bigger supporter of the abortion agenda than the liberal media, MSNBC spent a staggering 65 minutes promoting the election. That was in less than 12 hours.
MSNBC reporters exaggerated the possibility that Kansas’ pro-lifers could fail all day Tuesday. MRC NewsBusters analysts analyzed 12 hours of MSNBC news coverage from 9AM to 9PM. This story was deemed the most important by liberal cable network MSNBC.
MSNBC featured live reports from Kansas, discussions, and interviews at 9:47AM, 10:31AM, 11:01AM, 11:03AM, 11:07AM, 12:32PM, 1:02PM, 1:23PM, 2:31PM, 3:51PM, 4:48PM, 5:26PM, 6:12PM, 7:21PM, 8:02PM, 8:34PM and finally at 8:52PM. (This doesn’t include the full election results discussions that continued from 9PM to midnight.)
This equals 65 minutes 34 seconds. In the 1PM hour, MSNBC contributor (and former Democratic Senator) Claire McCaskill repeated the lie that dogs would be used to sniff out women trying to leave their state for an abortion:
Parts of legal abortion can cause disagreements between reasonable people. However, the majority of Missourians, Kansans, and most Americans support legal abortions for rape victims. It is not their intention for dogs to inspect women arriving at airports in order to determine if they intend to have an abortive procedure..
It is false. Snopes, a liberal outlet, has disproved the idea that the technology would be used in Mississippi. Here’s Snopes: “In sum, we found no evidence whatsoever of any state lawmaker in Mississippi engaging in any such discussion, and in any event, neither the state senate nor the state house have convened since the beginning of April.”
At 3:51PM, reporter Dasha Burns promoted the pro-abortion fears of the “Republican super majority” in Kansas:
[Passing the ballot initiative]The Republican super majority of state legislators would have the ability to address this matter. It could open up the possibility for them to either restrict or ban the procedure altogether, which many activists fear.
Joy Reid (far-left host) spoke about Kansas 10 minutes and 51 second at 7:21 PM. She assailed the threat of violent pro-lifers: “Anti-abortion violence is a current domestic terrorism threat that began in the early 1970s. We’re talking vandalism, arson, bombing, along with threats of harassment and intimidation.”
In reality, it’s pro-abortion terror groups like Jane’s Revenge that fire bombed and committed arson against pro-life pregnancy centers. Of course, journalists weren’t interested in covering that.
Kansas’ pro-abortion party won Tuesday. These groups received the enthusiastic support of liberal MSNBC. On Tuesday, the network deemed Kansas the top issue worldwide.
