Ari Melber host a program called The Beat on MSNBC, and like many of his ideological comrades, he is Very Concerned™ about what might happen to Twitter with Elon Musk at the helm.
Melber spoke out on Monday about his fear of Twitter losing fair play. It was a shocking display of lack of self-awareness, cognitive dissonance, and lack of self-awareness. Melber worried that one person owning all of a site like Twitter wouldn’t have to be transparent, and that person might even be able to *gasp* secretly ban politicians they don’t like, or outright ban them, or even *second gasp* “turn down their reach.” And no one would know until AfterIt’s the elections!
“If you own all of Twitter or Facebook or what have you, you don’t have to explain yourself. You don’t even have to be transparent. You could secretly ban one party’s candidate or all of its candidates, all of its nominees. Another option is to secretly limit their reach and make it more reachable by someone else. It’s possible that the rest of us won’t even know about it. After the election.”
Melber would love to be told by you first!
A journalist who has his own TV show would not have known that Trump banned Twitter from censoring conservatives. It is almost unbelievable. Trump was also banned from Twitter. That guy is still with us. This was him. A politician. Banned.
Melber appears to not have heard of Trump’s ban on or suspension of New York Post reports about Hunter Biden laptop. Melber may also have missed the Project Veritas ban regarding actual journalism.
Liberal media mocked conservatives who were agitating about their accounts being targeted, shadow-banned, and purged following the January 6 kerfuffle. They called them crazy nuts and overreacted to typical bot purges.
If you don’t like it here, go build your own platform. That advice is something we all know.
But, the shoe’s on the other side. Nobody is being purged. Nobody has been expelled. Elon isn’t running through headquarters with a magic wand, zapping liberal accounts out of existence. He doesn’t even officially own Twitter yet. Yet, Ari Melbers all over the world fear that one bad chief executive could take Twitter down and silence his ideological and political opponents.
This is what you can imagine!
Many have wondered if it is parody or deep-fake. This isn’t the case. The man said it outloud with his mouth. You can see the difference.
