A Hezbollah media outlet is slamming “zionists” after a parody account seemingly got the outlet kicked off Twitter.
The Jerusalem Post reported that Al-Ahed news, a Hezbollah-run media outlet, was suspended from the platform on Saturday after a Mossad-themed parody account reported a tweet from the outlet that said a stabbing from last week was “heroic.”
Al Ahed news tweets: “Zionist media reports a critically injured settler from Israel after heroically stabbing a Palestinian girl in Sheikh Jarrah Neighbourhood,”
According to the operator, The Post that he did not know the account was affiliated with Hezbollah, but that he reported the tweet because of its grotesqueness. The account “The Mossad, The Social Media Account”, is very popular on Twitter with approximately 200,000 followers.
The operator of the mock Mossad account stated that “At first, I didn’t know it was Hezbollah owned account.” “I reported the initial tweet because they called the stabbing a mother who dropped her children off at school heroic stabbing.
While the tweet from the parody account did not ask followers to report the Hezbollah media outlet, the latter’s account was seemingly suspended because of the pushback.
Al-Ahed News responded by claiming that Twitter had engaged in a “shameful alliance with devil” and that it was “pushed, Zionist Mossad took an unjust mesure against one of resistance media platforms.” It seems that Twitter is unaware that its Mossad-themed account can be seen as a parody.
Twitter was also criticized by the outlet for trying to silence righteousness voices that were simply covering the truth.
Twitter’s Terms of Service bans glorification of violence as well as the praising of attacks carried out by terrorist organizations.
