Morning Joe Warns Dems: ‘Soy Latte’ Liberals Driving Blacks & Latinos To GOP

Soy lattes are being consumed by the Democrats. They might be sipping soy lattes, but politically, it’s as if they were chugging hemlock.

This was your grim message – if you are Dem–on today’s. Morning Joe.

Jonathan Swan, Axios, broke the news to the panel.

“What we are seeing is now.Increasing numbers of Hispanic and African-American working-class people, especially men, are supporting the Republican party. For whatever reason, Democrats don’t seem to be getting the message across.

Swan’s argument was that many Dem base members are opposed to the policies of the dominant progressive wing.

Scarborough quoted Obama pollster David Shor as citing Scarborough’s insistence on moderation, and being ridiculed at by other liberals.

[W]The party has been pulled to a position by hite progressives — Rev., I have to talk to you on that — which is far too progressive. We’re not only too progressive for working class whites but we are too progressive for working class Hispanics. Working-class black voters find us too progressive. Our base is becoming too progressive!Eric Adams, Rev is always a topic I talk about, but he won a Democratic primary election in New York City in Brooklyn and Queens.

As Scarborough mentioned, and we have noted back in 2020, Al Sharpton has been sounding this warning for some time. It’s as simple today as he said:

What point is progressive self-definition regressive? When you do this, aren’t you setting the scene for right-wing candidates on any of the issues that we might believe in?

“You don’t speak for us, you don’t even speak To us. It’s too easy to get distracted by ordering your next cup of latte, or having intellectual conversations with high-brow friends.

Mika Brzezinski chuckled at the joke. Scarborough then added his zinger: not just latte: “soy” latte!

Political parties can be likened to huge ships. They take a while to change their direction. It is likely that they won’t listen to these warnings until November, and will continue their far-left agenda. However, if the Dems suffer catastrophic losses in midterms it may just be enough to get their attention.

Morning Joe warning Democrats that their “soy latte liberal” policies are driving working-class black and Hispanic voters to the GOP was sponsored in part by Pfizer, maker of Nexium, IHOP, and Xfinity.

JONATHAN SWAN: Democrats should also be aware that, despite what you’ve just said, they must remain grounded in reality. Hispanics as well as African-Americans support Donald Trump in greater numbers. The Republican party has done a lot better than ever with Hispanics. It’s not due to race but on the basis of class.

Last year I was able to have a very interesting conversation with Senator Bernie Sanders. This is a serious concern for him. This is actually what is happening. What we are witnessing now is an increasing number of Hispanic and African-American working-class people supporting the Republican Party, especially men. Because of this, the Democrats’ message isn’t reaching voters. The midterm elections will show us what the results are. While I am sure everyone is participating in this poll, I think the results we see across the nation are not representative of what this conversation really is.

JOE SCARBOROUGH (You know, you speak about those numbers. David Shor who was a staffer for Barack Obama has been using this phrase since before the election. And you have progressives that have been mocking and ridiculing him because he’s been saying, hey—this is what Shor said about himself—weThe party has been pulled to a place by white progressives — and Rev, you need me to talk to you about it — which is far too progressive. This applies not only to working-class whites but also to working-class Hispanics. Working-class black voters find us too progressive. Our base is becoming too progressive!Eric Adams is a name I often mention, Rev. But he was elected to office in the Democratic primaries in New York City in Brooklyn, Queens, and Bronx.

It’s a strange thing that I can’t understand. You call them “latte liberals” and have done so for quite some time. But, for some odd reason, many people in Washington, D.C., who run the Democratic Party, seem to be unable to grasp this. Their losses along the Texas border are continuing, with Hispanics breaking Democratic. We are sorry.

AL SHARPTON: What point is your When you define yourself as progressive, it becomes regressive. You’re an idealist, however.I love a good latte! That is your way or the highway, and that you’d rather win the war than lose a small ego battle.

This, my opinion is, is what’s being shown bySome black men and some Latinos are saying “Wait a minute! You’re taking it too far!”Yes, we are scared of police misconduct and cruelty, but we must deal with gun violence and the crime that is killing our loved ones in our communities.

If you are too progressive to recognize that, you won’t be progress! This is what I fear is going to happen. You rightly raise the question: When will there be enough courage for people to challenge these extremists like Donald Trump? The left must have the courage to speak out when they are fighting for justice for George Floyd. Better policing is what we are aiming for. We’re saying better policing. you don’t speak for us, you don’t even speak To us. Your mind is too focused on ordering the next latte or engaging in intellectual high-brow conversations.

MIKA BRZEZINSKI [laughing]It’s my favorite! Jonathan Swan, it’s all right!

SCARBOROUGH A soy latatte is available at this location. The horrors, my god!
