Morning Joe Miffed VA Governor’s Race Close with Youngkin’s ‘Wild & Dangerous’ Views

You can find more information here Good morning, Morning Joe Willie Geist didn’t stamp his feet. But he was clearly miffed that the Virginia governor’s race is close—with one recent poll even showing Republican Glenn Youngkin with a lead over former Gov. Terry McAuliffe.

Geist, pinch-hitting for Joe and Mika, who had the morning off on Friday, forcefully asked Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Hillary’s failed 2016 running mate, why the race is close despite Youngkin’s What is the difference between “pretty wild”, and “dangerous?” Views?

Youngkin’s happy-warrior campaign has many positive television ads, while the Democrats tried to tie Youngkin to Trump.

GEIST: Senator, Let me ask about your race.We take a step back on this particular issue. ask you why it’s so close? We had Governor McAuliffe on a couple of day ago, on Morning JoeHe gives his opinion on that. He’s a relatively popular figure in the state. Why? Glenn Youngkin is a man who, as you mentioned, holds some wild and potentially dangerous views about things. It is so close.

Kaine only explained the tight race by pointing out that Democrats are often hurt when there is a low turnout for elections in Virginia. This doesn’t help with pre-election polls by phone!

KAINE

This is a problem that Virginians always have to face. The Presidential Year saw a record turn-out of 70%. Then we had a have a governor’s race the next year, kind of a unique off-year election, and turnout tends to drop into the 40s—might be 47, 45, 42. Democrats face challenges when turnout falls.Because we want a higher turnout.

Kaine ignored the obvious explanation: that Biden’s unpopularity—due to his failures on Afghanistan, the border, and the economy—is dragging down Democrats everywhere. McAuliffe admits to this!

What were Youngkin’s “wild and perilous” beliefs? Kaine exclusively mentioned Youngkin’s attention to election integrity. A clip was shown from Virginia, where people pledged their allegiances to the flag that was allegedly used in the Capitol Riot of January 6.

But Geist acknowledged that Youngkin had “pretty clearly distanced” himself from the rally.A statement was issued by the. It is “weird and wrong” to swear allegiance at a flag that has ties to the 6th of January.

Kaine tried to argue that Youngkin “promoted” Kaine.[d]The big lie” by “questioning November 2020’s results”, he is responsible for its consequences.

However, even this is not enough. Washington Post—which has endorsed McAuliffe—has acknowledged that Youngkin:

  • He said that there was not widespread fraud in Virginia.
  • He said he would have certified the results of presidential elections.
  • Biden has accepted the legitimacy of his election.

Also, who is lying Senator Kaine now?

Is this the kind of standard Kaine really trying to establish: candidates must be responsible for all statements and actions of their supporters? Would Kaine and other Dems really want to be held responsible for the actions of BLM, the defund-the-police crowd, the looters and rioters, etc?

Note: Willie Geist normally is the Morning Joe Voice of moderation and relative reason. Youngkin was unjustly accused by him of extremism. This is why it was so disappointing.

Morning Joe’s Willie Geist warning of Glenn Youngkin’s “dangerous views” was sponsored by Carfax and GlaxoSmithKline.

VOTE VETS ANTIYOUNGKIN COMMERCIAL [host at Virginia rally] I also want to invite Kim, from Chesapeake, she’s carrying an American flag, an American flag that was carried at the peaceful rally with Donald J. Trump on January 6th.

Voiceover: Is it?

Donald J. Trump, January 6, 2017.

VOICEOVER

HOST: All of you, I request that you rise up and come along with us.

WILLIE GEIST – Youngkin replied yesterday.

GLENN YOUNGKIN If that’s the case then It is not right to pledge allegiance for that flagIt’s a good thing, and I should have been more clear.Violence is not allowed in America.

Youngkin denounced those involved in the Wednesday rally. A statement later called it, quote: “weird, und wrong”, to pledge allegiance at a flag related to January 6th.

. .

Glenn Youngkin was unable to attend the rally. However, President Trump called in and joined them at that rally. They pledged their allegiances to the flag that was used during the attack on Capitol Hill on January 6th. Youngkin is, as can be seen, quite clearly detached from himself. What’s the impact on the race here?

TIM KAINE If you spread the big lie you are responsible for its consequences. Glenn Youngkin, who spent all of his campaign telling the public that election integrity was the most important issue and that it is time to audit elections has been a constant refrain. Questioning November 2020’s results.

. .

Glenn Youngkin, what is he going to do when there’s another attack like this? Will he try to stop it again? Is he happy to spread lies about the integrity of our elections? This is a grave, grave issue that  Virginians are worried about it now.

GEIST: Senator, Let me ask about your race.We take a step back on this particular issue. ask you why it’s so close? We had Governor McAuliffe on a couple of day ago, on Morning JoeThis is his explanation.
