Moore to the Point – Getting Over It – Opinion

After I had gotten over the virus, my interest in it quickly faded. Two-plus decades passed before the virus got into my system. After it had, I felt terrible for two days followed by a meh feeling for around a week. I’d characterize my bout with it as more than mild, but less than moderate. To be clear, I don’t say this to minimize the suffering or loss that many experienced from it (and I mean the virus, not the overreaction to it).

But, if I’m being perfectly honest, I pretty much stopped caring about it – I certainly stopped constantly thinking about it and allowing it to influence every personal interaction I have. And I’m not alone in that. Take a look around. It is still there, especially on those wearing masks. Most people seem to be able to live their normal lives without worrying about any potential dangers posed by other humans.

And just in time, the CDC has announced updated guidelines – which largely reflect this evolution. Instead of leading the charge, the government quietly adapts its teachings to the practice that the majority of Americans already follow. It is past its time.
