Minnesota School Board Votes to Provide Extra Pay to Non-White Teachers – Opinion

Let’s just cut to the chase and dig into the crazy, shall we?

An earlier vote by the Mankato school board in Minnesota to approve an exclusive policy for extra compensation to teachers of color who mentor other white colleagues was made this month.

That is not racist.

As reported by Alpha News, the board voted to amend district policy so that BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) teachers only may receive “additional stipends” to become mentors to BIPOC colleagues. The new policy will also provide funds for “placing American Indian educators at sites with other American Indian educators and educators of color at sites with other educators of color.”

In addition to the new policy not being racist, it’s also not segregationist. [sarc]

School board member Erin Roberts ‘splained, as transcribed by Alpha News:

When you’re one [minority]Of a [white]For many, it is very lonely and isolation. They need a support network in order to be able to cope. It’s not about trying to throw the few [BIPOC]Individuals we bring into one building. It’s about showing them they aren’t alone.

Right. Paying them more for hanging out together, solely based upon race. It sounds legit.

This is the point where I wonder aloud — rhetorically — what would happen if, say, oh, White teachersTeachers of color were given more money to socialize with them than other teachers. This could not happen and shouldn’t. It is, however, acceptable in this instance. Because racism.

Kenneth Reid was the Board Vice Chair and offered the best defense of the policy.

Global citizens are created by it at the end.

I wonder where these “global citizens” fit relative to Hillary’s “It takes a village” crowd? It is likely to be in the category of advanced rationalization.

Jeremy Munson (MN State Representative) criticized Facebook’s new policies. Excerpts:

Just recently, the largest local school district voted to make people’s salaries different, and not based on merit or their character but only on their skin colour. […]

Mankato Area Public Schools Policy 466 allows for pay for native American and black staff. [that]This is the amount that white employees are paid.

In addition to developing a Staff Development Plan, the Staff Development Advisory Committee also must develop teacher mentoring programs for teachers new to the profession **or school district, including teaching residents, teachers of color, teachers who are American Indian, teachers in license shortage areas, teachers with special needs.**

This legislation was opposed by me. It was racist to me when it was debated. I believe that it is illegal, racist and against the Constitution to give people less or more money solely based on their skin color.

“Have your local school boards passed similar measures and what are your thoughts on this new direction?” asked Munson. Are you still unsure if the answer is yes

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. lived and ultimately gave his life so that his “four little children [could] one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” Now, more than 58 years after MLK delivered his famous “I Have A Dream” speech in front of the Lincoln Memorial, the radical left in America is hellbent on flipping Dr. King’s dream on its head.

From Marxist-derived Critical Race Theory indoctrination of young school kids, to race-shaming and claims of systemic racism based solely on skin color, to paying non-white teachers more than white teachers — for segregating themselves with non-white colleagues.

How would Martin Luther King feel today?

What would John F. Kennedy, who said “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country,” think today?

Dunno. But I do know this: The rabid left wouldn’t care what they thought — and would do their radical best to marginalize or destroy them.

Take a look at the numbers.
