Hours after the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas during MSNBC’s live coverage of the aftermath of the tragedy Tuesday, Chris Hayes decided to bring on leftist filmmaker Michael Moore to get his thoughts.
Moore mocked law-abiding gun owners as well Second Amendment supporters, claiming that they were uncaring and okay with the death of children. Moore despicably claimed “we need to admit that we love our guns more than we love our children. And if you are watching and listening and saying, ‘oh, I don’t have guns, of course, I love children more,’ well, the proof’s in the pudding.”
Presumably referring to Republicans in Congress, Moore wailed that “the actions are including people who do nothing and say nothing about this. It’s clear that we’re more concerned about bipartisanship, preserving the filibuster so that we can’t get anything passed. And I think that we’ve let this happen.”
Host Chris Hayes sat back for most of the segment and allowed Moore to rant and rave about how evil gun owners are in the United States and whined that “this is the new normal, and it’s not going to change.”
In a tacit admission of the ineffectiveness of gun control to stop the evil act that occurred in Texas, Moore admitted “none of the gun laws that people are going to discuss on any network over the next few days — background checks, ghost guns, all this. All of this would not have happened today. These guns were legally bought by legal adults. And these laws that we talk about are not going to fix the problem.”
Moments later, he suggested to Moore that his parents open up the graves of their children killed in gun violence to the public. The thesis is that this would force Americans to support Moore’s beloved gun control.

These actions include people who don’t do anything and those who say nothing. It’s clear that we’re more concerned about bipartisanship, preserving the filibuster so that we can’t get anything passed. It seems that this is exactly what we’ve done. Just before Dallas, Steve Kerr was on the screen. I think he saw it about an hour ago. He just burst into rage. He was the coach of the Warriors, his father, and he was assassinated. Chris: I believe we should — this is the truth that I do not want to share because I want people be optimistic.
This is the new norm. And it’s not going to change. No one is going to talk about gun laws on social media in the coming days, including background checks and ghost guns. All of this would not have been possible today. They were legal guns purchased by an adult. The laws we are referring to will not solve the problem. However, I doubt we are going to be able to solve it. I don’t think–I think — I don’t know what it would take.
Years ago I stated that Emmett Till’s parents should have done the same thing as Sandy Hook. She demanded that his casket be opened at the funeral. This created such a stir that Rosa Parks claimed that five months after Emmett Till was killed by white supremacists, it created a movement. I kept my seat on the bus.
