Media Falsely Claim Texas Law Bans Transgenders From Competing In Sports

LGBT hearts are breaking over the new “Save Women’s Sports” law in Texas. Governor Greg Abbott signed the bill to prohibit males from competing on female sports teams in his state’s public schools, colleges and universities. The law is incorrectly portrayed by the left-stream media as discriminatory against transgenders. LGBT pressure groups sing the same tune.

ESPN W’s non-binary writer Katie Barnes, who identifies as “them,” charges the law “restricts” transgenders from sports participation and quotes Anne Lieberman, of Athlete Ally. This is:

It breaks my heart to think of the Texas communities that have been fighting tirelessly, session after session against anti-transgender legislation. Another example of legislators passing anti-transgender legislation is HB25. This law targets children who want to be friends and play sports.

Tim Stelloh’s NBC News propaganda is headlined, “Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (seen in above photo) Signs Law Restricting Transgender Students In School Sports.” His story doesn’t even mention the name of the law, and he portrays it as “discriminatory” against LGBT athletes. The photo of LGBT advocates protesting the law at the state capitol in Austin is a dead give-away of NBC’s position on the subject. According to Stelloh, transgender students at Texas universities and public schools are banned from participating in sports. In truth, Texas’s boys teams are open to all boys.

One supporter of the law is quoted by NBC as saying the new law is intended to protect girls’ sports. The narrative, though, is that transgender “girls” are going to be completely banned from public school sports in Texas. All of these agenda-driven media give a nod and wink to LGBT friends, and throw objectivity to the wind. As they’ve long done.

Stelloh’s featured quote, from Equality Texas, reads “that if Texans ‘want to protect children, the goal shouldn’t be to prevent trans kids from participating in sports, but to give all kids the freedom to make friends and play without fearing the kind of discrimination many older trans people face on a daily basis.’ ”

The NBC story says there is no threat to women’s sports in Texas, but Barnes says the Lone Star State has one of the nation’s largest transgender populations.

ESPN also quotes Andrea Segovia from Transgender Education Network of Texas, another LGBT advocate. This is:

It is adult bullying of children. This body legislating trans people from existence is at the core of this. Public accommodations are what we’re referring to. In these places, trans persons are allowed to live. If you allow bills such as this to become law, it sends the message that “We don’t want you living in these spaces.”

Barnes speculates already about whether the NCAA will remove Texas’ postseason events, just as it did previously with North Carolina for its 2016 bathroom bill.

The Save Women’s Sports law takes effect in January. Students who don’t know their gender identity will be asked to join the team that corresponds to their birth certificate. Yahoo Sports stresses that this “may differ from their gender identity.”
