It’s often a challenging race to try to figure out who is the dumbest Democrat in Congress. You have so many options. There are so many people to choose from.
Sen. Mazie Hirono (D,HI) is one person that always appears to be in the race for the crown. There have been many previous entries to this contest. It was at this point that she decided to let Donald Trump go about impeaching him.
Here she is telling men to just “shut up” during the Kavanaugh hearings.
There’s this from our Townhall.com friend Guy Benson.
in fairness, she’s so dumb https://t.co/2rm49H7qx7

Hirono took the crown today in an extremely cringey manner. It’s hard to believe that this came from an elected legislator.
Hey, if there are sound effects, I’m sure that we’ll believe Hirono more! Seriously? Is that really what she did? Do we have to talk about pure cringe?
While the debate over who the dumbest person on cable news rages, with a different person pulling into the lead nightly, there is not similar debate when it comes to the dumbest person in the US Senate… https://t.co/xA8Bp84WPa

This is the bottom line: Democrats want to consolidate power. To stop bills being delayed, they believe that the filibuster can be eliminated and the Republicans locked out.
Toward that end, they’ve accused the filibuster of everything from being “broken” to being somehow racist. They haven’t been successful because not all the Democrats are on board with that tactic. Sen. Joe Manchin (D–WV) or Sen. Kyrsten Silena (D–AZ) have a problem with the idea of eliminating it. Hirono, however, is definitely on board.
However, Hirono seems to have forgotten both about the Democrats’ prior position on the filibuster as well as her prior position on it. As we previously reported, Democrats are fond of calling it “Jim Crow” — yet they used it 327 times last year when they were in the minority party. So by using their logic against them, they’re big flaming racists. Hirono was also all for filibuster when it helped her party’s position.
She was reported to be all in favor of the challenge to Justice Neil Gorsuch’s nomination for 2017.

Of course, the filibuster isn’t broken when it helps them.
Their problem isn’t the filibuster. It is their policies that are the problem. They can’t even convince all their Democrats to sign aboard them, so how they think they can convince any Republicans? That’s the real problem here — that their policies are so awful but they don’t want to change that because they want these awful policies to pass.
