MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace on Thursday was positively shocked, suggesting Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana is either “racist” or “stupid” for labeling Joe Biden’s nominee extreme. During Senate hearings for Saule Omarova, the Comptroller of the Currency nominee, Kennedy jokingly stated he didn’t know whether to call Omarova “professor or comrade.”
Wallace raged, “This is a disgrace not just to the country, not just to the United States senate, it is a disgrace to the party of Ronald Reagan…. What do you do with a party that is at best stupid, at worst, flagrantly racist?”Given that she was a Democrat when she joined the GOP, MSNBC hosts clearly cares a lot for Reagan and the Republican Party.
Here’s some things not mentioned by Wallace in the segment about the Russian-born Omarova:
1. Back in February, she gave a speech at a “social wealth seminar” and stated that her goal was to bankrupt certain industries: “What I’m thinking about primarily is primarily the coal industry and the oil and gas industry. Many of those smaller companies will likely go bankrupt quickly. We want them all to fail if we are going to address climate change.”
2. It’s not just that she was born in the old Soviet Union. She attended Moscow State University and wrote her thesis on “Karl Marx’s Economic Analysis and the Theory of Revolution in The Capital.” The thesis has mysteriously disappeared from the University. While in college, she received the Lenin Award.
3. Speaking of the murderous Soviet Union, she praised it in a tweet for not having a “gender pay gap.”

NICOLLE WALKACE: Rick! I need to be careful with my words because Kennedy is certain to win tonight on another channel. This disgrace is not only for the United States senator, it’s also for the entire country. This disgrace is to Ronald Reagan’s party. He described America as “a shining city on a hill”, not because it was beautiful or shiny, but because it served as a beacon for others like the Biden nominee. How do you deal with a party which is, at the very least, stupid and, at its worst, flagrantly racism?
RICHARD STENGEL. It just reminds me of McCarthyism or the House of un-American Activities era, when people were called communists for their affiliations. This is a ridiculous question at every level. It doesn’t matter if it’s political or human. Her answer was, of course, inspiring. The whole purpose of the system is to allow people to escape authoritarian regimes. The Republican Party is now the party that backs authoritarian governments. Ronald Reagan isn’t just spinning in his grave. He’s turning in his grave.
