Sen. Kyrsten Sinema may be a liberal on most issues, but she’s certainly not your typical Democrat. The Arizona senator has long had a reputation for being a wildcard, more recently for opposing Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better” boondoggle.
It was that simple, and it caused the triggering that still continues to this day. Apparently, she just doesn’t care about appeasing her party, though. Axios has the details of a new tell-all book (written by two liberal reporters) about Biden’s presidency that includes several very interesting tidbits about Sinema’s relationship with the White House.
She first and foremost dared to hail Rep. Andy Biggs as a human being.

SINEMA, in private with GOP lobbyists praised ANDY BIGGS as an election denier
“I love Andy Biggs. I know some people think he’s crazy, but that’s just because they don’t know him.”@mikeallen has a peek at The Sinema Files from “This Will Not Pass” 👇https://t.co/quCINxWka8

Sinema must treat all people with respect and not allow politics to control her relationships. Calling Biggs an “election denier” is also a bit hyperbolic. Is Rep. Jamie Raskin an election denier given he objected to the electoral college count in Donald Trump’s election? Is it the case of Rep. Benny Thompson who opposed George W. Bush’s electoral college count in 2016? It seems that standards can change wildly depending upon which election is being considered.
Sinema was also able to touch the third rail for mask politics on another occasion.
It will be the spring 2021 “she became the first-ever lawmaker to argue with White House aides when they asked her to wear a face mask in the company of the president, repeatedly asking why that was necessary when she had been vaccinated.”
Sinema was at Sinema’s fundraiser, which proved to be the greatest reveal. She praised conservative tax policy and mocked Joe Biden in it. Then she accused moderate Democrats, who were hiding behind their public opposition to the Biden agenda, of being cowards.
…Biden was mocked by herWhile expressing affection for Kevin McCarthy (House GOP Leader), and even defending far right Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz.), she denied that the election results were true and said Antifa infiltrated Capitol riot. “I love Andy Biggs,” she said. “I know some people think he’s crazy, but that’s just because they don’t know him.”…
…Separately, Sinema told colleagues five or six other Senate Dem moderates were “hiding behind my skirt” as she pushed back on the left.
She’s certainly correct on her colleagues being cowards. While Sinema and Sen. Joe Manchin have taken all the abuse, from both their party and the media, there are always more Democrats opposed to Biden’s spending plan. The two were afraid of speaking out and instead relied upon others to endanger the deal, without being publicly opposed.
The book includes some remarks by Sen. Lindsey Graham. He has been an old confidant to President Donald Trump for many years.
On Jan. 6, an enraged Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) telephoned White House counsel Pat Cipollone and told him that if President Trump didn’t act more aggressively to denounce the mob “we’ll be asking you for the 25th Amendment” to remove Trump from office.
Graham also tipped his hat to the current president, asserting “How can you get mad at Joe Biden?” and believing that January 6th would kill the Trump-wing of the GOP. Obviously, that didn’t happen, and I doubt Trump is going to keep asking Graham to play golf after these statements get back to him.
Back to Sinema, though, it definitely feels like she’s got a real right-leaning streak in her. I know, it’s usually fool’s gold to suggest such about any Democrat, and I’m under no illusions she’ll switch parties or suddenly start agreeing with conservatives regularly, but at the very least, she appears to genuinely dissent regarding leftwing orthodoxy.
And who doesn’t love to see Biden made fun of?
